You get a great view of lake Ramsey, there are multiple beaches along the way as well as the diving rocks . They put gazebos and benches all over so you can sit and enjoy the view of the lake pretty much anywhere along the boardwalk and bell park walkway. Technically you are not allowed to ride your bike but that has never stopped me or many others from riding anyway, were also technically not allowed to dive from the rocks either but we still do, some people like to dive off the boardwalk docks right near science north. Some people come here to go fishing. Others come to walk along the lake, many spend the entire day. Its a great place for dogs too . If you come to Sudbury this is a must see for you. Any time of year. Preferably summer or winter but its still good otherwise you'll see.

I love this winding path that skirts Ramsey Lake. Beautiful trees, lookouts and flowers. All kinds of birds, squirls and chipmunks. The only thing I dislike is the amount of people walking with dogs on long leaches. I really don't like strange dogs coming up to me, makes me very nervous.

I grew up in Sudbury, and there are very few things I liked about the city, but this was always at the top of my list. While it can get busy during warm summer days, it is such a lovely walk with gorgeous views of Ramsey Lake. Many spots along the trail to pause or take photos (and you'll get some beautiful photos). There is a gorgeous gazebo area that has wonderful flowers planted in the summer as well. One end of the boardwalk features a beach and the majority of Bell Park while the other end leads you to Science North. I also recommend visiting in the fall as the leaves change colour-- simply stunning. In the winter, the wooden boardwalk area is closed for safety reasons, but there is a skating area on the lake near Science North. If you go anywhere in Sudbury during the summer/fall, go here and bring a camera.

Experience the beauty Sudbury has to offer. Walk around Lake Ramsey, one of Canada's largest in-city lakes. Beautiful scenery, don't forget to bring your suit so you can also enjoy a beautiful swim.

Bring your dog (on a leash of course) and enjoy the beautiful boardwalk, flowers, and beach that Sudbury has to offer - all for FREE - in the downtown area. We are so lucky to have an amazing place like this!

Right in the city too. In the winter the city maintains a skating path on the lake that parallels the board walk on land. You can start at the other end of the boardwalk at Science North. It also goes by the outdoor Grace Hartman Ampthitheatre, site of the Nothern Lights Festival Boréal the first weekend in July for an amazing, eclectic mix of Canadian and international music.
