On the first weekend after the Canadian thanksgiving Balla has its cranberry festival. Its the busiest weekend of the year taking over the entire town and surrounding areas People are bused in from surrounding towns rain or shine. You can tour the places that make or harvest the cranberries and the winery. There are wagon tours of the marsh. Its easy to spend a hole day there. Take a umbrella because it usually rains. You can also drive your own car. The wife goes every year with friends

Visited the marsh this past weekend and was greeted by wonderful staff especially Jocelyn. Cheese and wine was delicious and snow shoe trails were well groomed and marked. Fantastic experience will be back

It appears I knew nothing about cranberries. All the staff, from the young lady giving the tour to the more mature man in hip waders out in the bog were more than willing to answer questions and explain things. The wine tasting was informative & we came away with a couple of bottles. Would I put it on par with, say, walking on the Great Wall of China? No. But for a laid back afternoon in October- my wife and I had a great time.

As part of our bus trip, we stopped here. It was raining, but we enjoyed the wagon ride around the marsh. It was very informative. The had a great gift shop. Try the cranberry wine.

Dear Joyyy,Thank you for taking the time to write about your visit. We're so sorry you were disappointed by your tour! My family and I open our farm to visitors because we’re passionate about cranberry farming and want people to be as excited by it as we are. What we do is different 365 days a year, but we try to offer visitors a chance to see a real family farm in operation. All the pictures on the website were taken by us or our visitors. Of course, like any farm, we also have days like these: http://cranberry.ca/oops No matter what stage we’re at in the year, we do our best to offer an interesting, fun, authentic experience, and I'm so disappointed the tour didn't meet your expectations. Should you choose to visit us again, I’m happy to offer you a complimentary tour. Please contact Lesley at 705-762-3203 or ontario@cranberry.ca to arrange the details.Best, Wendy Johnston

I look forward to a trip up to the cranberry marsh in October, the nearby city of Bala holds it's cranberry festival the weekend after Thanksgiving. They have wine tasting, a tour around the bog, some vendors set up, and a gift shop. I love their cranberry candles, they burn just like they smell.

My husband and I really enjoyed the bog to bottle tour and wine tasting at this beautiful family owned and run Cranberry marsh. We were surprised to find out that they also grow blueberries as we'll! We really enjoyed sampling all of the different wines, dessert wines and spritzers as we'll! Would highly recommend!

This is a place that has clearly stayed true to their roots, family-owned since its founding and still growing. The 1pm 'Bog to Bottle' tour and tasting was $10 for an interesting look at both the cranberry growing and wine-making areas. though it was a little short ultimately. The wine itself though was just fantastic, and we barely made it out of there with only 6 bottles! They also have several nice walking trails around the property, including one around the northern marshes where there are signposts set up that give you snippets about the industry and processes. Overall, definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

We weren't entirely sure that a cranberry bog tour was going to be too exciting, but it was great! A really nice place and tour. The tasting is fun (though sweeter than a lot of wines... I think the wild blueberry wine is like a blueberry Chardonnay) and there are a lot of fun things (cranberry related of course) in the shop.
