Excellent place for a day trip, on the way to Grand Bend, or even an overnight stay at a local camp ground. Very photogenic all year round, with great trails, and a beautiful assortment of spring flowers. In the January 2015 issue of Canadian Wildlife Magazine my entry of a White Dog tooth Violet shot in May 2014 won the best Floral Entry for a professional in the Reflections of Nature Photo Contest. Rock Glen should be a definite to do list for anyone wanting to explore Southern Ontario.

We took our 3 grand kids ( ages 10 to 15 years)The trails were great, lots to see ( including fossils, if you found them and you could take one per person) Not a huge place about 30 acres, beautifully maintained. Newly installed walkways and steps leading you to the gorge at the bottom. Lots of picnic areas/ play areas for the little ones. There is a natural waterfall and a natural pool at the bottom. Swimming allowed. The museum (closed Tuesdays) is small but good, good exhibits of birds/fossils.

We visited RockGlen for our kids birthday this past June. We have friends that use RockGlen that are members and so we called to book again. We usually go once a year. This time though...what a joke! First they quoted us the "friends of members" price...., then they charged us double upon booking. Next they said we could have friends join us as it was set out to be a kids weekend birthday party. They told our friends to call back as they have to give members 1st dibs on campsites, so they couldn't book more than a week out to allow that to happen. Totally understandable. When our friends phoned back in within a week, they told them they couldn't book as they are not members. We still decided to proceed, as we knew the kids would still have a good time. Upon arriving though, they lost our booking. Luckily enough the manager was there and straightened it out. We checked into our cabin, only to find a note on the cabin door that pets weren't allowed in. They had a screened in part of the cabin, so it wasn't too big of a deal.....so we thought!! We get a visit from one of their workers the next evening at 8:30pm stating that pets weren't allowed even outside of the cabin in the screened area and we would have to pack up all our belongings and move to another smaller cabin, pay more for that cabin...and pay for a $50 cleaning fee for the pets being on the deck!! Or we could leave.....so...with kids tears flowing, we had to back up and vacate. Nice area...but due to the last booking...would never ever return...and would suggest to anybody with children....if you are not a member...do your due diligence beforehand....on what is allowed and what isn't. Horrible customer service...I've heard and delt with poor customer service...this was an all-time low!

Picnic areas, pavilions, playgrounds, beautiful hiking trails, museum, creek, river and beautiful water falls. Lots of things to do for a day. We took our kids, 4 and 6 and spent over half a day hiking and taking in the site, having a picnic and swimming under the waterfall. The kids absolutely loved it and asked if we can go back again. It was less than $10 for our family of 4 to get in and spend the day. Well worth it!Favorite part was the waterfalls for the kids. Museum has tons of fossils and artifacts.

Scenic falls and walks with a picnic Area. The park is adjacent to the Ausable River. The museum is small but has many interesting fossils and Aboriginal artifacts. If you are a fossil collector, WOW. The Devonian shale has been degraded to the point of just lifting corals, brachiopods and a few trilobites right out of the ground. Hunting can be demanding and a little dangerous if one is not careful but rewarding.
