Always a great place to spend a summer weekend or even a week. Fishing in the Grand River, swimming in the huge pool and very close to town if you need supplies. Very peaceful in the evenings sitting around your campfire or a new friends campfire. Wash facilities have always been very tidy and clean and nice to have a shower in the morning. Staff have also always been pleasant . I recommend this park to anyone looking to get away but don't want to do a 4hour drive and fight traffic!!

Come here often during the summer months! We get a season pass for our vehicles, that allows us to go to all the Grand River Conservation Area parks. Its a great deal to get the season pass if you plan to visit with your families more than 2 or 3 times in the season. The pool is huge at 3 acres! Very enjoyable for only an extra dollar a person. My family always enjoys fishing on the river in the park as well and having a picnic in one of the shaded areas. There are great crafts and activities in the park at the Main Pavilion for all ages on Wednesdays to Saturdays and most are free with admission to the park! Definitely check them out especially the edible crafts and the dances they run on the long weekends. Staff are all friendly, and is a great place to spend outdoors with the family or friends!

We come here every year, it is local for us and we love it. We camp here at least once a year and often also come just for a day of swimming. The pool is huge and has a wonderful splash pad for the little ones. Nice picnic areas around the pool too. Sites are average, many have poor shade/privacy. But that is the only downfall to this great park.

We chose a site that had hydro and water according to they're website 40-60 ft away. I have 75' electrical and was still short by a good 15'. Off to the rv dealer for another extension at $129 for 50'. I can deal with it. I should be set for anywhere after this. The pool is big and beautiful. Only issue I have is my son is 10 but they require adult supervision... that's fine I understand that not all 10 years may swim that well and they don't want kids to drown. But here's the issue. Every person must pay to get in, even if they are just there to "supervise". If I have to pay to supervise my kid swimming, what is the point of the lifeguards? Oh that's maybe why they sit there and play "rock, paper, scissors" with them while I pay to supervise my child. I just don't get it. If there are lifeguards why should I have to supervise my kid that can swim like a fish? And if I have to be there my they're order but am not.going to swim why should u have to pay? It's only $1 but the entire point stinks. The campsites are ok but I get the feeling us travelling Rver's aren't really welcomed by the seasonal campers. Would I go back? Probably because it's close and my kid will be 12 next year so I can let him have some.freedom and go.swimming without me. But I'd really do my homework on the sites first and make sure I'm getting what they say I am.

This park tries but does not succeed. Sites are on top of each other. And while security is visible, they do not enforce quiet hours, number of people on site, visiting hours. And on a Friday, the garbage bins were already overflowing. If you don't mind being overtaken by partying 20-something's this might be your spot. It's not mine.

We took our kids (1 and 2) for the day to visit family who has a trailer on site. The day pass was only $5.50 for adults and free for our kids. We met alot of families that camp there all summer and it was such a friendly little community. We ventured off for a few hours to explore and use the pool. Besides the pool, there was only a playground and volleyball court that we found for activities. The pool costs $1 to get in, but is an awesome pool with a nice little splash pad for the kids attached. We really enjoyed our day at Byng.

This is a really nice conservation area in a beautiful little town. You can camp there or just go in for the day. The pool is huge so even if there are a lot of people you don't feel like there is. The shallow end is very large and deep enough to play games with the kids. My 3 kids really enjoyed it. Bring food and a it will be a great day.

Last weekend was the first time I've ever been to Byng Conservation Area and I can tell you it will become a regular camping destination for my family. We camped for three nights along with our friends who were at a site next to ours. In total we were 4 adults and 6 kids (between ages 18 months to 9 years) and everyone had a wonderful time. There is a huge area dedicated to seasonal campers but there are plenty of nice secluded sites for nightly campers like ourselves. We had a campsite in Island campground and we were able to walk to everything - the pool, the playground, the nature trails, fishing area. The pool is a 2 acre beach entry pool with a splash pad. It also has a bridge to the deep end of the pool where you can actually dive into the center. No floaties (including arm bands) are allowed in the pool but they will loan you a PFD if your child needs or wants it. It does cost an additional $1 for people ages 6 and up to use the pool but you can come and go as often as you want throughout the day. It is not heated but the summer has been so hot that the water was nice and refreshing. We walked the short nature trail that was well maintained. A tributary of the Grand River runs right through the park and you can fish along the bank, or you can even go to the Grand. There is so much to do here we absolutely loved it.

Very enjoyable. Spent 4 days during the week. Very quiet. Pool is awesome but don't forget the $1.00 charge for people over 6. We stayed in the radio free section. No seasonals, quietest part of the park. But not close to showers. Note that showers cost 0.25 cents for 5 minutes. Pressure is good but not very warm and no choice of temperature.Small walking trail is nice for children. This park is all about the pool and is great for young families. Free life jacket use is a bonus. Very close to Dunnville so shopping is easy. Limited onsite supplies....ice, pop, hotdogs, fries. There was a total fire ban on so not sure if firewood is normally available.Only complaints, not much privacy or shade for most sites on the radio free even though premium priced but better than many in southern ontario. Worth driving around to pick a site. Island sites look good but they were mostly full. Great staff.
