After a visit to Sage Mountain, take the road east all the way to Road Town. Views are to the north and to the south. Beware of the other drivers as some tend to take the trip too quickly.

I don't understand how people can get used to driving on these roads. I thought I was going to die each time we traveled on this road. Next time we travel by way of yacht.

A very steep and twisty road, but offers some wonderful views. There are photo opportunities at a number of stops along the road. It's definitely worth exploring.

Ridge road is the backbone of the island crossing the high altitudes. There is many quick turns and blind driveways. Be careful.

The ridge road runs along the mountainous ridge of Tortola, connecting Road Town to the north side of the island. The road twists & turns sharply in every direction and at every gradient; Nothing short of a 4x4 is needed for roads like this. At various points on the road, there are observation points, where you can get some amazing views of Tortola and beyond.I had the opportunity to ride the ridge road with a local, who was able to speed along with no fear - definitely the best way to experience it! Every journey was an absolute thrill, and the novelty never wore off in the time that I was there. Not for the faint-hearted!

Would you like some great exercise? I suggest a loop walk from Cane Garden Bay up to Ridge Road and back down again. This is not for someone out of shape! It is about 5 miles and will take 2+ hours. With some very steep slopes and great views. There are two bars to get some "refreshments" to suppor your walk. Rudy's on the East side of Ridge Road and Stouts Lookout Bar on the West side. I recommend Stouts for the view.

As most of the roads in tortola are not great, this one is better! The majority of it is paved with a 2 car width. So you don't have to always fear going around a corner and having to pull over suddenly. It gives you beautiful views of both the north and south side of the island.

Very exciting but scary at times because the roads are very steep with a lot of winding hair pin curves. But was a lot of fun and we kept stopping where we could to take photos

I'd say that Ridge Road, which is very steep, with winding turns, etc, is the real and unsettled Tortola for sure. The sights from the scenic outposts there are just spectacular...and as a hobby photographer, I really enjoyed getting photos up there.

we happened upon it in the wrong way and really shuold have had 4 wheel drive. but overall the road is in good condition, beware of sharpe curves
