My boys and I, 11, 13, rented a Boston Whaler for four hours. It was great. I was nervous about taking the boat out, as I have no boating experience, but it was a piece of cake. Blue Water gives you a waterproof cell phone to contact them in case you have any problems. The beaches we visited we incredible. The water is crystal clear. One beach we went to had sand dollars all over the place in the water. We would reach our hand down in the sand and pull them up. I think we collected 30+ within 20 minutes. You are not allowed to keep them, but it is fun to find them and put them back. The snorkeling was pretty good. We went to the island where they had sunk a ship to protect the island from erosion. The snorkeling there was the best. We lucked out because National Geographic was on that island filming part of a documentary about the BermudaNational Bird. There was a man waiting for the film crew in a boat when we arrived. He thre chum out in the water and the fish came out of no where. They were all around us. It was incredible. The only thing that was tough about this excursion was getting back in the boat. There is no ladder, so you have to have enough upper body strength to pull yourself back in if you are in deep water. The staff at Blue Water are very helpful, friendly, and laid back. It was a great day.As a side note, to get to Sandys Parish we took the local bus. It was a great experience. The bus was very full and there was a young man sitting in a seat a few seats away from me. He was probably 14. An elderly women got on the bus and there were no seats. He saw board and immediately got up and gave her his seat. It was impressive. The people of Bermuda are really fabulous!

We had booked a multi-day dive package. We were fortunate that on our first dive day we were informed that we were going on a rare opportunity dive to the Argus Towers. They hadn't dove that in 8 years and the conditions were good for it. We were the only non-locals on the boat and everyone was part of the dive industry in Bermuda. The captain/owner was great and a lot of fun. There was another captain named Marie who is English and she was a hoot. All had a really good, organized operation. The wrecks were fantastic.

Sorry for a delay in my review. Our family cruised to Bermuda in August. My husband and I went diving with BWD and had a great time. Not only this!!! We left our GoPro and water camera on the dive boat. Since we were scheduled to set sail a few hours after returning, we decided to wait until we returned back to the states before contacting BWD. BUTTT!! BWD were so attentive, they realized what couple had the GoPro and returned it to our ship! That is service at its finest, I highly recommend using BWD on your next dive!

I had a great day of diving with BWD. They were professional very knowledgeable. The boat was well kept and the Captain and crew were very accommodating of the different skill levels of divers and gave more attention and instruction to those who needed it. I would dive with them again!

Stopped by here while in bermuda on a cruise. They have 17ft Boston whalers for rent. You go out on your own for a rental fee that is not that bad. $145 for 4 hours. Explore the area, go snorkel where you want. Stop on a empty beach, relax, have lunch. The markers are very easy to follow in bermuda. Worth every dollar we paid.

I spent 2 days doing 4 dives with Blue Water Divers. All 4 dives had been fun and safe. I love diving but don't go as often as I'd like. Blue Water is my Dive Shop when I go back to Bermuda.

My family went diving with Blue Water in August while visiting Bermuda on a cruise, and we can't thank Chris and his staff enough! My daughter and I did our 4 referral dives with our instructor Alex and he was so patient and thorough. He made us feel so comfortable. And yes, we passed! My husband and son went diving recreationally with Maria and Chris and had a great experience. The dive shop is about a 10 min taxi from the Dockyard. The check-in process was easy and the equipment was functional and the appropriate size for all of us. The dives were spectacular and the visibility was incredible! We went to Blue Hole and explored a huge reef and also went to a sunken wreck. What a great experience- I would highly recommend Chris and Blue Water Diving!

My spouse and I went to BWD for our first (real) diving trip and they made us feel completely at ease. We went out with them twice. The first day, it was pouring rain and we were the only ones going out, but they still made it a special day. The second time, we were with a large group of divers who were getting trained, and they took us to a different spot. Overall I would say they have a nice, relaxed vibe, which is exactly what you want.

We are sorry that this reviewer did not enjoy their experience with us.We do ask that guests approach us directly if they have had a negative experience; we have not been contacted directly by this reviewer. We will certainly work on the counter space problem. Generally it is organized, but we accept that it may not have been on that day.We cannot respond in much detail to the issue of not feeling appreciated. Every trip ends with a 'thank-you' speech and a debriefing. Our staff consistently receive high ratings for service. Without specific examples of why they felt unappreciated, it is difficult to say more, however we will discuss it internally to see where we can make improvements. We recognize that prior to the ownership change in 2012, BWD had many negative reviews that specifically referenced the poor level of customer service that was being provided at that time. We feel we have come a long way since then, and the reviews since 2012 reflect the changes that have been made - but there is always room to improve. We do not agree with the reviewer's assessment that the equipment is "outdated." They are referring, by "dive belts," to weight belts, and we assume that they mean 'versus weight integrated BCDs.' New training standards dictate that weight belt ditching be taught as part of Open Water training. This training can equally be accomplished with weight integrated systems, however there are many reasons why weight integrated systems are not ideal for use in a rental fleet. Constant adjustment of load in the pouches (which weight belts tolerate well) tends to cause many styles of pouches to fail prematurely - a failure in a pouch is extremely dangerous and can be life-threatening. Integrated systems can be difficult to handle when changing tanks - adding the weight of the tank (roughly 30 pounds) to a fully loaded BCD can be in excess of 50-60 pounds. We frequently see dropped or lost pouches in a variety of models of weight integrated BCDs. Due to the absolute necessity of a safe and reliable weight system, we will continue to use weight belts for now. Weight systems are very much a matter of the diver's personal preference, and we continue to have many divers who bring their own integrated BCDs and have absolutely no problems. In short - we object to the notion that weight belts are "outdated." That is an over-simplification of a larger issue. On the issue of refund for the reviewer being unable to equalize - we clearly state on our waiver that refunds are not possible for dives not completed. Every person who boards the boat is required to read and sign that waiver. The two most common ailments that lead to divers being unable to dive, are sea-sickness and inability to equalize. Both of these are impossible for our staff to predict. A diver may feel perfectly fine but be unable to equalize once in the water, for a long list of possible reasons. While we sympathize with these types of issues, the overhead costs involved in providing diving excursions is completely prohibitive to the notion of giving refunds for either of these ailments. The reviewer appears to believe that the cost involved in diving is the cost of the air in the tank - this could not be further from the truth. The cost of a tank of air is incidental in comparison to fuel, equipment, staff, insurance, licensing, etc. If the boat is full, we potentially have a waiting-list of divers who would have liked to occupy a spot on board. It is unreasonable, therefore, to compare the inability to equalize, with the dollar value of the air in a tank.Having said that - we have on some occasions reached a compromise with divers experiencing these types of problems, in spite of the fact that it is against policy. If this reviewer did approach a member of staff with this problem and was told that a refund was not possible, then that member of staff was simply doing their best to comply with written company policy that the customer read and signed. We did discuss this specific review internally, and none of the staff recall being approached. We wish this reviewer all the best.
