I have hiked to paria falls several times in the years gone by. I have always enjoyed the hike plus the scenary at the beach and falls. Highly recommended for any nature lovers. A friend of mines did mention a while back on his hike in that area that the beach was littered with garbage. That was depressing news and we should all aim to carry back our garbage during any outdoor excursions.Nevertheless, I will return and experience this memorable location.

Paria waterfall Hike is a long (9 mile round trip) but rewarding hike. The track starts where the north coast road ends. A jeep trail with a few houses soons gives way to an old bench trail. There are about 5 or 6 valleys which need to be crossed. The total elevation gain and lost is about 1600ft. The walk along Paria beach can be difficult as the sand is poorly consolidated with no shade. The waterfall and plunge pool is very beautiful and very rewarding.

This waterfall is wonderful. The water is cold like ice but still nice. It is a long trek to that waterful but it is very scenic.

The hike to Paria falls will take you to a beautiful beach. The walk through the forest is a nature lover's dream. And the waterfall is stunning: a blue pool of water perfect for swimming.

Make sure you set off early. Have you been exercising before? Please do. This is not a hike for the timid, although kids love it for the challenge. Either do the longer walk through the hills from Brasso Seco, or the up and down hill climb along the water;s edge from Blanchisseuse river ( one of the few " cable bridges". You could be tired when you arrive, so take a good rest, a bath and many pictures like the ones on this site. If you go through the hills make sure you leave by 2.30..Don't let night find you still in the hills..it is really dark at night. A real life adventure!!

Went there 14yrs ago! From reading recent posts, it seems that it is still the magical hike we took then. A good 2h walk, solid, but with endless breathtaking spots, and a dream bath in the crystal clear water below the fall!As mentioned by others... BE CAREFUL... You will not come back from there the same person you were before you left, and may not even want to come back !I have to admit, I never shared that experience until now because I was afraid that this spot get spoiled by too many visitors... Selfish, I know, but hey... Such pieces of paradise on earth are very rare nowadays! So please respect it, and if you bring anything with you for the hike, take it back with you as well....

If you really love nature and enjoy a challenging hike the paria waterfall is a must. Great for pictures. Enjoyable trek. You can stop at paria bay and take in the wonderful atmosphere. This is my most favorite hike and one of the most beautiful wonders of my home land.

This to me is quite a challenging hike - about 7 hours to hike in and back out, not including bath time at the falls. You will see some interesting flora, some fauna you might see are Macaws, Parrots, Butterflies and some insects.Just before the falls you will meet up with some beaches and small rivers which are some great places to relax (just remember you have a total of 7 hours hiking!). I drank some pure mountain water - very refreshing and I am still alive - just remember to drink where the water is gushing, not the still pools. When you are at the falls you can have a really cold and refreshing bath. If you are adventurous you can climb up some rocks just to the front and at the side of the falls where you can jump off (don't dive head first). You can also be adventurous enough to climb to the top of the falls and fill up on the fresh water there - also very refreshing! On the negative side, there is a ZIP Line there which I recommend you absolutely DO NOT TRY:1. You have to climb a steep, slippery cliff face to get to the top of the zip line. Very difficult even if a rope is available. The guides seem to have omitted this information when you sign up and pay the non refundable fee.2. When you are ready to zip, the zip guy will tell you to move your feet out of the way of the jutting rock just right in front of where you push off - I hit my feet there and it really HURT. I am fortunate I was not injured.3. Then there is a guy who will have to "hit the brakes" so you won't crash into the tree that the zip line is connected to - it seems to me very risky.4. If you changed your mind and do not zip the fee is non refundable.Overall it is a great experience for any hiker. Not for the slow hiker.
