If you visit Toco then you should have visited the lighthouse at some point. The drive is long and there are no food/bathroom facilities. The view of the lighthouse and at lookout rock is splendid. Safe during daylight and a solid family location.Recommend that you stay overnight at a resort or beach house if you are coming from a far enough location on the island.

I visited the Galera Point Lighthouse on a sunday trip through the northeast.Beautiful place, nice view of the ocean and nearby rock formations, but that's about it. If you've got the time and will to visit, be sure to bring picknick goods (food and drinks), because there's no touristic infrastructure.

I would like a hand here. Yes, a perfect scenary for enjoying nature, you can even see Tobago from this point. Although, you can see dirt all around, empty cigarette boxes, empty beer bottles. Guys, come on.

There's going to be an extremely long 2 to 2 hr and a half drive to get there from the West of Trinidad; more if you're coming from Central Trinidad. The drive is only nice if you are driven, there are serious potholes, dugouts, warped and narrow roads to navigate. The beach on holidays is packed and there are a series of beaches along the stretch to choose from. The main beach was not pleasant as there were too many stones underfoot . The drive in was muddy, but that happens mostly when it rains. There were a lot of vendors from which items could be purchased, but heavy eaters must walk with there own meals. there were preserved fruits like plums, chenettes and mangoes for sale. there was also sea moss available. people were also selling life preserves and fun items and toys for kids. Parking is plentiful. All in al, I'd give the ride to and beach experience a 5 out of 10.

My husband and I took a beautiful, three hour drive to visit the Galera Point Toco Lighthouse and we were pleasantly surprised! The place was clean and there were lovely little huts to sit under and have a picnic. The bathrooms were clean and conveniently located. But the best thing of all was the view of the coastline! It was absolutely amazing! The expanse of the sea was majestic and made us feel a bit insignificant! The lighthouse itself was in a good condition and provided great historical information. There was no cost to enter and a small fee of TTD$1 to use the bathroom. Even though there were no food vendors present, there is a lovely beach nearby where there are lots of small shops that you can get drinks and eats and have a nice cool swim.I will definitely be returning to this scenic and peaceful place. The drive was long, but it was so relaxing to watch the trees and hear birds as you drove along. Toco is a beautiful place to visit!

"Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time"A quote from the sign at the lighthouse that I will take with me wherever I go. The drive to the lighthouse is full of beautiful beaches and perfect photo ops. A little of a drive depending on where you are coming from. The view from the rocks is spectacular, during the day or at night. A visit during the day is nice because there is seating around that let's you sit, eat and lime while enjoying the beautiful view. Small parking lot so it may be best to visit during the week rather than the weekend.

The ride to the lighthouse took us past several beaches that we got out to look at. The ocean view from the grounds of the lighthouse were spectacular. On the grounds of the lighthouse, we saw the first of many termite nests. There were some almond trees, but the nuts were not ripe to eat. Vultures were everywhere! It is too bad the grounds are not kept up better. The trash can was full and it appeared that it had not been emptied for some time. We continued on our way to the end of the road along the northern coast. It was nice to see the country side and small villages. Road work was being done. I am glad we were not driving! We took a picnic lunch, but there are places along the way to eat. I am glad we went.

The area is great for picnics, sunbathing, and surfing. The area beaches will runnout of parking space during the holidays, such as easter weekend. The drive is very scenic as travel is thru various villages.

A very beautiful lighthouse, build with Queen Victoria's initials on! Lovely views out to see. Saw a green turtle swimming around off the rocks. Lovely spot for a picnic as there are lots of tables in shady spots under trees.
