Avocat Waterfall is absolutely beautiful. An easy hike along the river, which makes it accessible to even the non hiker, practically anyone. When you get there, you experience a powerful waterfall that cause an updraft of wind which blows your mind. A beautiful pool for swimming, shallow and deep sides. Swimming under the falls is another experience, the powerful water beating down on you, and for the massage of a lifetime, sit on the rocks under the falls, massage the head, the shoulders the back. After taking a good swim at this Waterfall, you are renewed, refreshed, rejuvenated. Absolutely beeuutiful.

Hiked to the Avocat Waterfall and Three Pools with Island Hikers. This hike starts at the Spring Bridge in Blanchisseuse and takes about an hour to get to the waterfall. The trail is uphill for most part until you descend to the waterfall. We were offered the option to hike back how we came or to use the river route through Three Pools which we did. This was an amazing hike, the hike down the river was breathtaking!

This is such a nice place to be. The hike to the waterfall in itself is great, easy, and very enjoyable. I could have just stayed in this place for the whole day.

The Hilton Trinidad recommended guide, Andrew Welch with Banwari Tours (868)681-2393 when we asked for a hike to a waterfall. My wife and I were looking for something a little quieter and a little more romantic than other busy toursist spots in Trinidad. The drive was roughly an hour from Port of Spain stopping a few times at lookout points including a vista above Maracas Bay. There was a light hike through the rain forrest. 4 on a difficulty scale of 1 to 10 and only because there is a river to wade through with slippery rocks. We enjoyed the canopy of the trees and the damp air. The falls are approximately 30 minutes into the walk. There is a pool where you can swim under the falls. It was a beautiful and memorable time. On the way back to Port of Spain we stopped for a Bake and Shark at Maracas Beach, which is a fried shark sandwich, a local favorite. Although I dont usually like fish or fired foods I was pleasantly surprised at the many flavors/sauces/toppings which could be added. It was tasty and fun, a nice ending to a great morning. Well worth the $100USD per person for the tour

Went with a few friends and I must say you will enjoy it walking in and out of water to get to the waterfall. Walk with water shoes to assist with that when you arrive at the waterfall there are huge rocks for you to rest your stuff. Got a chance To hike up the waterfall And days after I was in pain I must warn you hiking up is not an Ez road but it is worth the view.

We visited the falls twice in the last 2 months, first with island hikers then with a smaller group of friends, the shorter route is from Avocat village along the river bed 1.5 miles.

This falls is sometimes called Marianne Falls. It is located about 5 miles in on the Blanchiseusse/Arima road. We went with a local guide, so it was up to him to find the spot. We went about 5 miles from Blanchisseuse on an old agricultural road on the eastern side of the Blanchisseuse-Arima Road. There is a chain link fence. On entering the road you can park at the first house. Please pay Pops a small fee (25TT). There is a path that follows the river and at times you must cross the river. Wear shoes that can get wet. On the last leg of the hike, the path riss up a hill. The waterfall is on a tributary of the Marianne River that flows in a westerly direction and joins the main river after the waterfall. It takes about 35 minutes to hike. Enjoy the small, but deep oil at the base of the waterfall.
