Fun to watch if you enjoy seeing kite surfing. One of the best places in the world but not a good place for swimming because of all of the kites.

After disappointment at busy over developed Grace Bay, Long Beach is what I imagine TCI to be like..... Gin clear waters, fine white sand, for as far as the eye can see. A kite surfers paradise..... Came back twice just to be enthralled by the kite surfers and to walk the miles of stunning beach away from the crowds.

This is e new beach for kite boarding..really worth watching the experts in the wind and there are kite schools there also. This is the windy side of the island ...the water is turquoise.

Having visited Providenciales on many MANY occasions, we made our very first visit to Long Bay and were stunned-it is pure heaven; it has the softest sand and beautiful, warm, turquoise water, even in winter. There is nothing there, no bars, restaurants or even beach chairs or sunbeds-just a beautiful, quiet and isolated beach. Long Bay beach attracts kite surfers from round the world as it has great breezes; there were perhaps 30 or so there on the Saturday that we went and we really enjoyed watching them; we were even treated to a few mid air somersaults. Although there are no private beaches on the Turks and Caicos Islands, it is hard to find the beach access points. There are condos to rent right on the beach if you are really serious about kite surfing or just to spend some time there relaxing. If you do want to spend the day there take your own drinks, food and sun beds (if you need them). Overall a quiet and beautiful beach for walking or relaxing.

This was by far my favourite beach on the island. The water is shallow forever with a sandy bottom, perfect for kids and non swimmers alike. There are changes rooms and picnic tables available (and washrooms located at the Shore Club sales center!)There is plenty of shade under the line of palm trees dotting one side and trees along the other side. - perfect for drying soggy, salty towels!Conch sells are available by the millions. My kids LOVED collecting them up.The sand is soft with a huge expanse to spread out on. There is not the resort based - umbrella drink - lounge chair crowd but a handful of locals, kite boards and people in the know. The wind which is usually present (and encourages the kite boarders to come here) keeps you cool on hot days and it is fun and interesting to watch (or participate in kiteboarding)I cannot say enough good things about this beach - leave Grace Bay and come on over to try!The one downside is the construction of the Shore Club which provides the noisy background of hammering and drilling all day long - everyday!Unfortunatly with the soon-to be-completed Shore Club (which is building out into the water I am told) I fear this beach will soon not be so idealic.

I recently came back from Provo, Turks and Caicos and I found myself coming home to a poison ivy like rash on my hand. I don't know if I came in contact with a plant or something but I have travelled on a Vespa tour which was amazing. But I don't understand where I could have received such a reaction, it is itchy just like poison ivy and almost looks the same (small bubbles formed together, slight redness around the bubbles). I have however been in contact with a conch farm and I don't know if I've touched something there but I am going down to the pharmacy today to check it out.Any feedback will be much appreciated.George

The water is calm here, and it's definitely more tranquil compared to Grace Bay. There may be kiteboarders or jet skis in the afternoon but otherwise, you may have the whole beach to yourself. We went snorkeling near the mangroves and met barracuda, and Southern stingrays, as well as parrotfish. Supposedly there is an eagle ray around here. Fly fishermen like to come here too. The weather turned cold and rainy during the last half of our trip in February and the water was cold - but we went swimming anyway.

We drove to Long Bay and walked along a remote beach which we had to ourselves and swam in the most beautiful water.

My husband and 2 teenage daughters rode our bikes to this beautiful hidden beach. We locked up our bikes, walked to the beach and jumped right in the water. While we were swimming a guy ran up and stole our bag. By the time we got out of the water and back to the road he had driven off. In the bag was the keys for the bike locks, a credit card, some cash, and of course our keys to our room! We borrowed a phone and called the police and they took 45 minutes to show up! And of course there was a rain storm and all our clothes were in the bag! Then the police said they couldn't drive us back to our hotel! Luckily another tourist picked us up and brought us home. Beautiful remote beach but too dangerous to be worth it!!!!
