This is my place in the world! The best place ever. The right temperature of water and the weather is excellent. I would be back over and over again. We spent a great afternoon here last week.

We had been on a gibbs cay tour earlier and wanted a easy afternoon. We walked around the cruise terminal and strolled onto this beach. We found island jerk beach bar with just a couple of benches , a gazebo but what more do you need ??4turks for $12 and free wifi with a beach and the ship as a back drop Simple but fantastic !!!

Grand Turk isn't much, but this nice little beach right by the Cruise Ship pier makes for a good spot to lounge in the sun and get served right there on the sand. Take this cruise port stop for what it is, a nicer swimming pool than the boat! ;)

I have been to this destination 2 times within the past year. Both times my family has things stolen. Shoes, flip flops and even a wallet. As you know you must bring your ID to get back on the boat. You also need to wear shoes ... Therefore it isn't like you could have left these times on the ship. The people there watch the tourists and steal right from them. The horses are led into the water and you literally swim with them. The sand smells like animal urine, the bathrooms are gross and the food is completely overpriced. Jimmy Buffett ... I love your music but you should visit this Margaritaville one day. Do NOT LEAVE YOUR THINGS UNATTENDED. Not for one second. THEY WILL BE GONE.

This was our last stop before heading back to Miami. ( little low on funds ) Great location! you literally get off the ship, into the pier, and BAM! Beach....Free beach chairs to use under Palm trees, white sand and clear water... Some locals hustle with tours or drinks, but they aren't able to HARASS because of the beach security. I believe it's part of the "Grand Turk Cruise Center" (GTCC) they regulate the beach & it's businessesGreat spot to relax.... for FREE

What an interesting beach. For the price (free), it really can't be beat. If you are visiting via cruise ship, you could almost throw a stone from the beach and hit the cruise ships. Unreal how close you are. One of the few beaches I've ever seen that had free lounge chairs. Umbrellas were an extra cost. Fairly clean. I stepped on quite a few beer bottle tops though.I would say the beach is very well suited for families with children, as there are very few waves, and natural shade is easy to find. There is a strong police presence at this beach. People have small stands set up to sell pop, water, and snacks. From what I gathered that day, these stands do not have the authority to sell alcohol. The police raided the stands, took coolers, bottles of alcohol, and made them take down their pop up tents. An officer came around with a shovel, looking for beer buried in the sand (which is where the stand we were next to had it hidden). This would concern me for broken glass in the sand. Immediately after the police left, the stands resumed selling alcohol. These stands weren't offering lower prices than the legitimate beach bars. Their rum punch was cheap, but made with "punch" from a gallon jug, and as I mentioned, the beer was buried in the hot sand. Take the walk to a real bar, don't get yourself in trouble. Not worth it IMO.Also, they were renting snorkeling gear, not cleaning it, or storing it very well, and making cruise passengers leave their room keys with them. When the police raid happened, I watched one vendor leave with several people's cards with him, and didn't return for quite some time. Sorry to veer from the topic of the beach, but that was a big part of it. Overall, the beach is nice, just stay away from the shady pop up vendors.

Why pay to be driven to another beach when you can enjoy this one steps from the ship! Sand was nice, the water clear, good snorkeling and free beach chairs,(the ones blue and white stripped with cloth) chaises with plastic straps are charged for but there where plenty of free ones. You can rent an umbrella,($20.00) Margaritaville is right next door so drinks where easy as well as a pool and swim up bar, What more could you ask for? I'll be back!

This is a great free way to spend the day off the ship. The chairs are free as well as the bathrooms next to Margaritaville. The swimming is wonderful and there are lots of fish to see. There are people that will bring you drinks if you want. The cruise ship docks in front of the beach but there is nothing better then a view of your home for a week. There is also a casino in a Pirate ship if that is what you like to do. There is a small NASA display just to the left of the cruise ship entrance, as this was where the Mercury space craft smashed down.

A group of 8 of us stopped here while on a cruise. The sand is wonderful and the water is absolutely crystal clear there are some large rocks out in the ocean so be cautious as you walk out not to cut your feet but the rocks aren't everywhere and you can see them to avoid them. The fish swim all around you but never bother you, so bring your dive mask if you want an up close look at them. For some reason as we exited the cruise ship it was similar to hearding cattle of every one was driven to the most populated side of the beach, so be aware and take notice to which side is less populated. If it was less populated I would have liked it better... but hey what can you expect with a cruise ship port- condensed population.

This is a picturesque beach located just steps from the cruise pier. The water is crystal clear and it's the perfect temperature. Yes the cruise ships are docked in front of the beach, but it’s how you got to the island--and it's a great beach. We didn’t think the ships ruined the view though. We took some great pictures of them at the pier! It’s a short walk from the Cruise Center along the beach (to the left of the pier) towards Jack’s Shack and up to Governor’s beach. The sand is white and soft, but there are some shells and rocks in places so watch your step. This stretch of beach also has vendors selling speed boat rides, jet ski rentals, parasailing and other things. Several bars along this beach also play music pretty loudly which can be a turn off if you’re looking for some peace and quiet. The lounge chairs are free, but they are available on a first come, first serve basis. Some of the chairs are definitely more worn than others and the fabric is a bit saggy in places. If your goal is to sit on the beach all day, you will want to get to the beach early to get a chair. Please don’t be a chair hog though. If your group will be leaving the beach area for more than 45 minutes, you should take your things with you and let someone else use the chair. There’s a smaller and quieter section of the beach just to the right of the pier. There are free lounge chairs here too as well as some shady areas under the palm trees. The NASA exhibit is over here too.NOTE: The shops at the cruise terminal get VERY crowded and busy about 1.5 hours before ships are due to leave port. You may want to do your shopping earlier in the day if you can. The lines at the duty free store are really long especially if two ships are in port that day.
