very clean for a public beach. My only complaint is that they did not have a public toilet. (if they did i didn't see it).Clean & Safe

Although not a polished tourist spot, my husband and I stayed in Ocean Park for 10 days and enjoyed ourselves. The beach is clean with a mix of tourists and locals, as well as non-hassling vendors walking up and down selling empanadas, alcapurrias, water, and beer. There are some great restaurants in the neighborhood too - we loved Bagua and Kasalta! Walgreens and the Post Office are on Calle Loiza if you need liquor, supplies, or want to mail souvenirs home. However, I will say just because Ocean Park is gated doesn't mean it's 100% crime free. We did see two people at the end of Calle Santa Ana (on the wall of the abandoned building for sale across from Numero Uno Guesthouse) doing graffiti at 1:30 in the afternoon with such a leisurely attitude it was shocking. Someone came to paint over it a few hours later, but we couldn't believe how brazen they were to do it after clearly spending a day on the beach with their towels in hand.

Fun beach to hang out on. Weekends they have someone selling burgers, chicken on the beach. Also Pamela's beachfront restraint is a great place to eat right on the beach. they also have servers that will bring you drinks to the beach with umbrellas and chairs to rent. Awesome day at the beach!

This beach is a mini version of Isla Verde. Beautiful beach with powder like sand. I went there every day. It was about 3 minutes from the guest house I stayed.

Its kind of secluded for being in the cosmo area, lots of gated streets so park in the first spot you can, also very Gay friendly

This neighborhood cannot be judged by a casual drive-by. You have to spend some time here to appreciate it. While it doesn't look as polished as its neighbor, Condado, or as distinctive as Old San Juan, it is home to some of the best restaurants and inexpensive guest houses anywhere.I've walked it day and night, and have always felt safe. It's an easy walk to groceries, pharmacies, bakeries, a Post Office, and some terrific places to eat. An easy bus ride to Old San Juan. With access to one of the nicest stretches of beach on the island, this is a true destination for someone who wants a nice, peaceful getaway.

We walked to Ocean Park from the Dreamcatcher Guest House which is in a very nice residential neighborhood and away from the hotel area. The tall palm trees provided a good amount of shaded area which was good since there were no umbrellas or chairs to rent on the beach. Dreamcatcher does rent them. There is also plenty of sunny area. Water was not clear and rather rough in November. It was a nice, warm temperature but the bigger waves knocked me down and it was not good for snorkeling. I heard it is calmer in the summer. It was in the mid 80's in November.Bring water to the beach or some money so you can buy water or beer or ice cream from the beach vendors who walk the beach. The vendors called out what they were selling but there was no one selling jewelry or wraps and hassling you directly like on other Caribbean islands. We were near the Pamela restaurant. A few blocks out of the Ocean Park community, there are a good number of nice, non-touristry restaurants. Café Mam (vegetarian) and Bagua were great. There was no bathroom or shower area to wash the sand off your feet.

Kitesurfing is very popular at this beach conditions vary but most of the time the wind is perfect. A day here and you will see a lot of kitesurfers and people learning to kitsurf. I definitely recommend this beach if you want to learn to kitsurf.

Ocean Park is one of the most picturesque, serene, calm and yet unobtrusive scenes to park for a nice day in the sun. A respected crowd by the local vendors, and the main street filled to varied eateries. We traveled with our very small pet and stayed at a boutique hotel with some amazing food. The only time we left the hotel was for breakfast because they offered a free continental, but we wanted breads, pastries, and eggs : ) GO TO PAMELA'S RESTAURANT! (the secret). Went went back in August, and going right back to stay at the same place this week for another 5 days…Puerto Rico in our future??? hmmm…Ocean Park may have just made that decision for us. : ))

It was never really crowded and I never worried about leaving my stuff up on the beach while I was in the water. It is only a 5 minute walk to any restaurants and was a block from our hotel. Beautiful area - would love to visit again.
