We followed Google Maps based off the GPS coordinates on puertoricodaytrips.com and we found a house with a sign for Paylas but it was gated off. Couldn't tell where to park or where to go so we skipped this, unfortunately. Maybe next time?

The views were spectacular, if you like waterfalls. The steps and rocks down to the bottom of the waterfall is extremely slippery. I did fall and cut my hand. Once at the bottom of the trail, you must climb up huge rocks to get to the part of the waterfall where you can sit and slide down. I fell on the way up and severely bruised my other palm. The slide down was thrilling and so was being dumped into the pool at the bottom. The next slide down was not as steep, but the pool below was larger and beautiful. Even though I got banged up plenty, I would not have missed the chance to experience it.

My husband I went, slightly challenging to find but the directions on this site are accurate. We went a Monday the woman that took our 5$ didn't speak English and we were alone the whole time we were there. We didn't know where to get in or even how to climb safely around the falls. I wore tennis shoes in the water and that was good cause there was some broken glass and sharp rocks. I fell on my butt pretty hard while I was there. I wish someone was there toShow us how it was done :( otherwise it was pretty and neat to have a private waterfall for the afternoon

This place was so wonderful. If nothing else, it is a beautiful waterfall and a magnificent picnic spot. The waterslide is pretty dangerous, if you do not know where to get in. Both of the “waterslides” are much further down the falls than we would have thought. Either have the guy who owns the house to show you or watch others before you try. And, pay the entry fee for goodness sake. We spent about 2 hours here. It was beautiful and worth every penny of the $1.25 per hour for us. TIP: Wear tennis shoes! The "safer" water slide is a climb down slippery rocks. If you don't have any, get cheap ones in town. My husband had only flip flops and I had neoprene water shoes. We made it work, but both of us would have been happier with solid footwear. Here is how we got here. Take 992 in Luquillo to Sabana. Make a left on 991 to 983 and turn right. Will be on the right on 983 in about 3 minutes. Like the previous person, we dropped a pin and found it with no problems.

From the directions on this article i found the spot on the map on my Iphone and placed a pin. We followed from Southern side of PR. IT WAS ON THE NOSE! The guy was wicked nice and very hospitable! The natural Slide was so much fun!!! It was a nice adventure and not a touristy trap. There were Locals that drove 2 hrs to get there! The gentlemen that owns the house you park at was very nice and allowed us to use his outdoor bathroom, which was clean. NICE! They also sold some snacks and Coconut LIMBER my favorite. All around it was a great expedition and a nice treat for the whole family for only $5 bucks to park! It was the first thing we did in PR. I told everyone about it that i met in PR, even locals... They all wanted to visit. I wish i had time to go back!

Initially my new husband and I were very hesitant going to Las Paylas. It was not something that is advertised all over and we heard it was something that the locals did. However, we were able to find it quite easily and found it to be a very good time. The guy who's house you parked at spoke english and made change for us, and we had a great time walking around the river, swimming in a swimming hole, jumping off a rock, and finally, riding the waterslides!

It was really nice, the water slide is safe at least i slide down and nothing happend to me, it doesnt hurt at all. Its nice for family but as in many places you have to look out for your kids. Its only $5 for cars or you can park outside but to pass they will charge you 50¢. Keep in mind that is the mans buisness so he have to charge you for using his patio. I tell you is worth it, It is beautifull, It is Nature ;)

We were told about this place by some locals, finding it was not that easy.. but SO WORTH it!! Bring your snacks & drinks in a cooler, and enjoy the natural waterslide & pools.

Just a few minutes on 983 towards Fajardo and you are in an oasis...I cant believe this is someones backyard..Just pay $5 per car load and stay for the day.......so beautiful and limited amount of people because not everyone know of this location....Remember 983 in Fajardo not Luquillo will give you the time of your life in this beautiful private waterfall location. So worth the ride and the scenery is breathtaking.

We had fun at this unique spot. I just wanted to clarify that you don't have to park at the guy's house--you can park along the road for free, which is what we did. He also charges 50 cents per person, but if he's not there, the locals told us he doesn't mind if you use his path anyway! : )
