Perfect public beach day. You can rent chairs and umbrellas with ease. Lots of places to great food, snacks and drinks. You can also look for the flags to go parasailing,jet skiing or on boats. It's a clean beach and the people were all kind and fun.

We love Pine Grove Beach - it is nice & clean, has a few waves to buggy board and feels safe being so close to different hotels. Early Sunday mornings there are simply great.

Pine Grove is a nice clean beach with bigger waves and is great for boogie boarding. Umbrellas and chairs are also available - the guys that bring them to you on the west end of the beach just work on tips. This beach often gets confused with Isla Verde beach, which is west of ESJ towers. Pine Grove is east of ESJ towers. The Isla Verde side is calmer with softer sand. The beaches are essentially right next to each other, but you cannot walk from one to the other without leaving the beach due to rocks and condos separating the two.

Nice beach to learn surfing during the winter.In summer is good for the family.there is almost no parking available in the area.

Pine Grove Beach technically goes east from Dalia Street to the Courtyard Marriott. Once you hit the Marriott, the beach name changes to Carolina Beach, which is a government run beach with lifeguards. If you go west from Dalia Street, you will notice buildings jutting out into the water. You must go around those building to get to the beach that is technically named Isla Verde. You can go around by swimming, or go back to Dalia Street and take the road that angles toward the west. There was lots of room on the beach and no seaweed on the days we were there.

Due to my last trip to Puerto Rico, I had quite some high expectations. Instead I wound up with paying $14 for a beach chair and umbrella, 47 insect bites and a view of pigeons flocking nearby. This used to be my "go to" spot.

I am posting this review as Pine Grove Beach, because although we accidentally ended up further down the beach, our San Juan experience was exactly what I was hoping it would be.I asked my taxi driver to take us to Pine Grove Park - he said, "No, I'll take you further down, it will be easier to find a taxi ride home". When we stepped onto the beach I thought I'd made a mistake as there were no boogie-board rentals (I wanted my young children to experience boogie-boarding without doing a full-size surfing lesson). The waves also seemed small. But then a local recommended that we walk 2 blocks to Walgreens to buy a boogie-board for $10. We did, and when we returned to the beach we found good-size waves just 50 feet further along the beach. We had a wonderful day of boogie-boarding (the waves were perfect size for us beginners!) and it was one of our favourite moments of our holiday.

Beautiful beach full of beautiful people. Met some great characters on Pine Grove Beach. Definitely spent a majority of my vacay on that beach. Local hotdog stand serves fresh coconut and an interesting fully loaded hotdog, with chips, ground beef, onions, sauerkraut, and cheese - delicious!

Walk to Sandra's Point for some local flavor. Food and drinks are excellent with exceptional service.

We stayed at the Intercontinental and was able to just walk right out on the beach from the pool. The beach is nice and the water is warm. It was comparable to beaches in Florida. The sand was soft and water is blue. There was some seaweed during our stau but they do a good job cleaning the beaches every morning. People are pleasant and it felt safe. The water was not carribean clear but pretty in its own right. The current is strong and waves are moderate but swimmable. There are several bars you can order drinks from. The intercontinental provided chairs and towels for their guests. We look forward to returning.
