Many Americans probably didn't know about the rich history behind Alexander Hamilton. The museum itself isn't anything special, but the tour guide's explanation of Hamilton's life would be enlightening to most. Worth a stop; allow for about 15 minutes.

Not a lot to see here. Some interesting facts about Alexander Hamilton, but not enough to fill an afternoon. Could use some updating.

We arrived 10 minutes prior to closing and the lady told us sternly that she'd already closed the upstairs (the Hamilton rooms) and that we needed to mind the time in the museum. She then disappeared and didn't offer any kind of courtesy to us, not even to give us an overview of the museum. We thought the museum was charming in its kind of homemade way and really would have appreciated at least some guidance, which would have made us feel like buying a trinket or two. I guess the docent was having a bad day, because our experience here was nothing like the rest of our interactions with the lovely people of Nevis.

Docent will guide and tell stories about Nevis in the time of Hamiliton. No photos are allowed inside. Just accross the lawn was an excellent and reasonable resturant.

No real shopping to speak of and the downtown is about a block and a half. That being said, the reason we came to Nevis is because it is not touristy or over-developed...I probably wouldn't want it any other way...

My wife and I visited Nevis on a cruise vacation. The cruise made a stop in St Kitts and we took a ferry over to Nevis. While there we visited the Alexander Hamilton house. We were excited to see a place where one of the original revolutionary era soldier and framer of the declaration once lived. There wasn't much to see, but it was memoriable just the same.

Great chance to learn about Alexander Hamilton (yes, the same Alexander Hamilton from US Revolutionary War history) and his connection to the Queen of the Caribbe. While this is not the Smithsonian, you shouldn't go expecting that anyway, there are quite a few nice exhibits for learning not only about Hamilton, but about the history of Nevis as well. Enjoy!

If you like history well you will like this. Alexander Hamilton's birthplace! We stopped here as well as the Horatio Nelson museum. Both were very good.

This was a small museum, but had a lot of interesting information about the history of the Island. If you have 30 - 60 mnutes to spare and enjoy learning about the places you visit, I would recommend you visit here.

Took my daughters - it was not what was expected. There were serveral posters that spoke about Hamiltion and his life. I found the information interesting but would of enjoyed seeing more artifacts, real documents, etc.
