We have just returned from a one week tour. I do not know who to complain to but wanted you to know we are not pleased. We did not have high expectations for food or hotels. Our tour guide Juan Carlos and driver of coach 567 Antonio were great. It is our accommodations and extra water payments which were not. I can not believe you think that the Varadero hotel the Allegro Navidii is suitable for a tour group and endorse it. It is poor at best. Perhaps after major renovations and a deep clean it might be but certainly not now. I would also like to point out that no where were we told beforehand that we had to purchase ALL of out beverages including water at every meal . So not only did we have to buy water for the afternoon at lunch but had to buy water to drink with our meal. It was more expensive than beer anywhere from .50 to 1:50 CUC more. We spent all our money on water,beer and wine liking one beer prior and wine with holiday meals.

Yordany and Yasmany where awesome tour guides. There was no time limit which allowed us to not feel rushed and do what we wanted as well as what Yasmany had linned up. Yasmany is new at the tour guide business and was very profesional and full of knowledge. Our 3 kids where shown the real Cuba, by visiting his home, going to a sugar cane museum that expalined a lot about Cubas history. We also toured the oldest church in Cuba at 500 years old. We had the best lunch of the trip in Santa Clara at an additional cost. We toured the markets in Santa Clara and visited historical Revolution sights in the city as well as toured the CHe monument and mossuleum. Yasmanys knowledge and patience with us was amazing. Having my kids play soccer with Cuban kids at his home and meeting his family was a big highlight. I am very excited to go back and see our friends Yordany and Yasmany. Cuban people work very hard and long days and we really appreciated his time and efforts

To biggirl 2468 I am so sorry to hear that your tour wasn't up to standards. I would like to clarify that yasmany DOES NOT have a benefactor. However he does have a friend who is like a second mom to him who has only helped setup advertising and his website but does not have anyone backing him financially. I got to know yasmany very well when I went to Cuba and in all reality any costs involved with his business are taken care of by yasmany only. Yasmany gets very excited when he has tours booked so the fact that he called you so quickly would be a good thing. I would also like to say that unlike us Canadians who wouldn't give much thought to invite total strangers into our home, Cubans are very loving and welcoming people so you should be flattered to be invited to yasmanys home. It truly is a shame your tour didn't go as you wished. As a satisfied customer of heart of Cuba tours I hope you give it a second chance as yasmany is a really great tour guide and I know as soon as I get to Cuba he is my first and only choice for a guide.

Yasmany traveled 180 kms. from his home in November 2014 to be our guide for a day in Santa Clara, and we're glad he did! His English is very good, and he has excellent knowledge of the history etc. of the Santa Clara area. He took us around to the main sites (including the Che Guevara Memorial), and helped us understand the role the history of the area has played in the development of modern Cuba. He's also a very caring guy, and is married with a young family he's very proud of. If you're looking for a guide while in Santa Clara, contact Yasmany - you won't be disappointed!

Yasmany and Yordany thank you so very much for my tour of cuba!!!! You gave me the real cuba experience and thats something you cant get at any resort. You both were so happy and always smiling.You treated me like a princess and were such gentlemen always opening doors for me!! The food was AMAZING and I wish the resorts would serve real cuban food like that. I was blown away when I seen the car i would be riding in!!!! I love old classic cars!!!! The music you played during the drive was so fun and upbeat, I felt like I was in a movie and it just added that extra special touch to the tour. I appreciate all your help when it came to shopping at the markets and helping me communicate with the locals. You honestly took me to the best markets and I was able to buy the coolest things for so cheap ( yasmany by the way no I didnt have to buy another suitcase for all my stuff lol). Thanks for making my first trip to cuba a memorable one. I can hardly wait for our next adventure!!!! Take care and see you soon :)

I thought..another crap tour to bore me! lol IT REALLY WASN'T!!!!Yasmany the tour guide and his driver Yordany picked us up in Santa Maria at our hotel. From that moment on, I never had a dull moment. I seen the sights of all the towns between Santa Maria and Santa Clara. The old vintage cab was a great ride. Sing along to very upbeat music and tried very hard to sing in Spanish. Of course this was impossible as all I know is HOLA! lol We ate at an amazing restaurant in Santa Clara by the name of Conquistadors. A buffet full of the most fantastic Cuban food. All you can eat for 6CUC. After eating at the resorts, I wondered why they didn't serve REAL Cuban food!! We shopped and saw the sights, had a few cappuccinos along the way, was awesome! Yasmany shopped with us and if he felt the price was to high, he would tell the clerks and they would always lower the price. Yasmany speaks very good English and also several other languages. I haven't had that much fun for a very long time!! We were never rushed and never told that we should go back to the hotel. The day was ours to do as we pleased. The excursions from the resorts were approx. 85CUC per person and you get shuffled along like cattle. There is a time limit for each stop with them.
