This small museum incorporates a museum of steam. There is a video explaining the development of the sugar industry in the area. The exhibits highlight the role of slavery as well as showing the machines once in use; including an old Remington typewriter! We had a guide who spoke English. Attached is a steam museum. There are some steam train rides to Remedios available.

Interesting place especially for train buffs. Bunmer: They were out of fuel so the tourist train wasn't running.

This was a Cuban highlight for me. The chance to drive a real life steam train.3km from Remedios is a fantastic Sugar Mill Museum. A welcome drink of sugar cane juice (acquired pallet required) was offered, followed by a short video show of how sugar is produced. But before the tour of the former mill, I had the chance to drive an amazing steam train thanks to the expert guidance of my new friend Osvaldo. In a scene reminiscent of Casey Jones “steaming and a rolling” I first reversed the giant steaming beast, narrowly missed hitting a horse, and then headed back to the sidings with a mega “toot toot” to boot. No health and safety police – love that – just did it and nobody killed in the process.As I jumped down from the footplate, boyhood dream achieved, we carried on our tour of the plant. How the cane arrived, how the juice was extracted, where the cane was burnt to power the local town and what they did with the brown sugar. Lovely guide who used to be the former Mechanical Engineer of the plant, she was a lovely lady.A quick look around the largest collection of steam locomotives in Latin America and we were off. I was happy as Larry.

This attraction is very interesting. It's a nice way to see how the production of sugarcane is working. Though we had a guide who could only speak spanish and not a good articulation. So it was hard to understand him.

We had a great guide to the old (large!!) sugar mill. Interesting old equipment - OSHA would go crazy. The propaganda video before the tour should not be missed.

In dem Museum wird an die Zeiten der Zuckerindustrie erinnert. Ein ehemaliger Mitarbeiter zeigt die mit viel Liebe und Sinn für`s Detail zusammengetragenen Erinnerungsstücke, die in der ehemaligen Zuckerfabrik zu sehen sind. Eisenbahnfreunde werden sich über die große Anzahl alter, z.T. aus Amerika stammenden, Lokomotiven und Waggons freuen.

C'est un endroit très intéressant pour ceux qui veulent en apprendre sur la canne a sucre et sa transformation. Nous ne pouvions cependant voir un démonstration en live. Mais c'est bon, instructif et bien structurer. Toilette propre !

Die riesige Zuckerrohr-Verarbeitungs-Anlage war bis 1991 in Betrieb. Heute sind die eindrücklichen zwei Produktionslinien als eine Art Freilichtmuseum vollständig und sehr gut erhalten. Als Zugabe sind für Eisenbahnfans noch ein Dutzend, zum Teil über hundertjährige Dampfloks zu besichtigen.

Ce site est une ancienne usine de canne à sucre.Nous sommes accueillis avec le sourire et la visite commence par un film dans notre langue sur l'arrivée de la canne à sucre à Cuba.Puis, nous avons droit à une visite guidée très intéressante animée par Santiago, un ancien chef d’atelier de la sucrerie.Les différentes pièces sont très bien entretenues.La visite se termine par l'exposition de 38 locomotives à vapeur exceptionnelles !Puis, pour finir, un bon jus de canne à sucre compris dans le prix d'entrée.Devant le site, il y a un parking gratuit, sans souci.
