This pharmacy museum is a rare find. It contains not only the original store front but also the back rooms where medications were prepared. Also there is a large collection of US, European and Cuban medications. The cost was $3 CUD for the tour which was guided in Spanish.

The Farmacia Museo is definitely a must-see! It claims to have the largest/full collection of pharmaceutical products in the World.

This museum is one of its kind in Cuba. Dating back to 1882 it has been impecably restored. We asked a cabbie outside the hotel to bring us to the town of Matanzas to shop and tour. The total cost for 6 of us was $80 CUD for 6 hours of a guided tour. The museum charges $3 CUD per person for a guided tour. It was done in a small group of 8 people and the language of the guide was great. We also heard tours done in french and german while we there. The restoration of the woodword, architecture and all the old equipment and bottles was amazing. To hear the story behind all the various equipment was worth double the cost. I have tried to upload nice pictures of this museum but they simply do not do it justice. I would recommend this trip to everyone in Varadero. It's a nice day away from the resort and there is so much to see

Absolut sehenswert! 1882 errichte ein Apotheker-Ehepaar eine große und luxuriöse Apotheke. Die Ausstattung stammt z. T. aus Frankreich (Porzellandosen), Glasflaschen aus Amerika. Heute ich die Apotheke ein wunderbares Museum mitten in der Stadt und leicht zu finden. Man hat den Eindruck mitten in einer anderen Zeit zu stehen: Deckenhohe Regale voll von verschieden Behältnissen, Holz-Theken mit alten Waagen und Registrierkassen und Buchhaltungsmaschinen. Im Innenhof eine Anlage zur Herstellung von destilliertem Wasser. In den Regalen an den Wänden Fachliteratur. Diese Apotheke verkaufte für die ganze Insel.

Fue todo un asombro para mí este lugar ya que contratamos la excursión a cuevas de bellamar pero antes de ir allí nos hicieron recorrer esta botica francesa que en la actualidad es un museo, no cobran entrada es a colaboración te podes sacar las fotos que desees. Muy útil toda la información que nos brindaron lo recomiendo

Vale la pena conocerlo, la presentación del guía, aunque interesante tiene muchos datos inexactos y poco fieles (la unicidad del lugar en el mundo, p.e.). Hay un costo adicional de 5 CUC por derecho de cámara (no sé si es real o una forma de adquirir dinero localmente, pero vale la pena).

При посещении пещер,всегда везут в эту старую аптеку. Один раз можно съездить. Но не очень интересно. Скучновато. Лучше просто по городу погулять.

On fait un tour de la boutique/ ex pharmacie qui date de plusieurs siecles, on voit a quel point cela fait parti de la culture cubaine de bien garder les affaires precieusement, visite sympa.

Es un hermoso lugar donde aun se conserva todo el equipamiento utilizado en la epoca por las farmaceuticos de aquel momento. Lugar muy bien conservado aun, a pesar de todo el tiempo que ha pasado. Es como si estuvieramos ubicados en muchos años atras, sin necesidad de utilizar la famosa Maquina del Tiempo. Lo recomiendo

Posee la historia de la farmacopea en Cuba desde el siglo 19. Atesora más de un millón de recetas hechas por los doctores en farmacia que allí trabajaban y conserva toda su estructura, moviliario e instrumentos para elaborar jarabes, supositorios, tabletas y papelilllos como se les llamaba en esa época. Además tiene una galería de exposiciones de piezas de arte que comercializan y una sala de espectaculos culturales.
