Another jewel in Matanzas! Visited a few times and always enjoyed it! Great walking trails - really cool bar/restaurant on top of the hill (is a bit of challenging hike). Great swimming, paddle boat rental for a very scenic tour. Cold Servesa always available - and like always amazing staff and friendly visitors. A must do when in Matanzas!

After a lovely trip up Rio Canimar, it is a great place to stop for a tasty BBQ, a swim in the river (lightly mixed fresh and salt water), take a photo with the jutia (giant tree rat) and the crocodile, and enjoy the Cuban great outdoors.

You can swim, go for a ride, book a boat or just spend a good time in one of the restaurants. Very nice and friendly people.

Cruising down the river Canimar with my wife of 46 years, in a small rental paddle boat, on a birthday afternoon under a canopy of tropical trees with just two herons for company ( one of which caught a fish and proceeded to try to swallow it in front of us ) was magic

So peaceful and tranquil. Plenty of activities to do-water vehicles, swimming, horses, eat-or simply sit and enjoy. Very green. The park like area is close to Matanzas - eco-friendly atmosphere and ambience. Don't miss-this spot is a hidden gem.

This place is a lovely riverside park, with various services and activities such as swimming, guided hikes, kayaking, horseback riding, and a couple of restaurants. It's a great place to spend several hours chilling out.

Nothing quite like sitting by the river and enjoying a cold beer and some fried plantains. Oh yes, and the Jutia likes a beer, too (that's him/her in my profile pic). Sort of like our beaver without the webbed feet and flat tail. While you can drive to the Arboleda, it is also a great place to get to by boat tour from Rio Canimar. The water is very clear, and not quite as briney at the Arboleda end - nice to be in a mixture of salt and fresh water.

My husband and I found this place on our last vacation, it is amazingly beautiful, the river is so green and they have all this animals, like a bull, horses, Jutia(don't know how it is called in English), snake, a little cocodrile, dogs, cats, and chicken. it is like a big farm. you can choose from different restaurants in there to have lunch, we went to the one accross the river, up the stairs, just beautiful. If you love nature, and silent, that's the place for you. one of our favorite places in matanzas!!
