Ruinas Sanatorio Duran was somewhere I wanted to go since it appeared on Ghost Hunters International. I went with a group and boy is it big. We were able to take a tour in Spanish only but it was extremely informative and well worth giving a small tip to the tour guide. He was very knowledgable about the area. This was a former hospital and then became a type of juvenile detention center so the place has it's history. It's in the mountains of Cartago so you will need a car or van or sorts to get there. I am not sure how good the bus service is there. It was a bit scary some parts of the grounds were extremely chilly and cold. Other parts were very very dark and it was hard to see but it was awesome never been to a "haunted" place before but I enjoyed it truthfully.

This place is haunted.... Jus saying. You can even spend the night there if you want to but I wouldn't . You can feel the spirits there and I know that might sound a little nuts but it really is true, at least that was my experience. I thought it was so cool there and actually going back again soon.... But not to spend the night :)

Our family enjoyed going through the ruins here very much. It's a lovely setting with spooky ruins. I gave it a four cause it rained and was very slippery and I was using a cane. This is very inexpensive and they have an area for a picnic - wish I knew that first as it would have been fun.

If you are on your way up to, or down from Vulcan Irazu, this spooky haunt is a lot of fun for a quick stop. I forget the entry fee but it was very inexpensive. Well worth a visit!

Antiguas instalaciones de un hospital para tuberculosos. Abandonado y en ruinas. Interesante para pasar cuando se va al volcan Irazu, pero solo si se tiene tiempo. No vale la pena subir solo a este lugar.

Es toda una experiencia entrar a este lugar lleno de historias de miedo y dolor. Para fotógrafos es muy interesante todo lo que se puede lograr. Eso si se ponen con peros para dejarte pasar con luces, trípodes, etc...

Pasar a este lugar es obligatorio, las fotos que puedes tomar con su paisaje de hospital abandonado son muy buenas.Este lugar encierra mucha historia, fue uno de los mejores Hospitales para Tuberculosos de América latina. Podrán imaginarse cuanta gente murió y salvo dentro de ese Hospital.

Ubicado en las faldas del volcan Irazu, las ruinas del Sanatorio Duran pueden ser una parada obligatoria si te llama la atención las historias de fantasmas, aparecidos y sustos. El lugar fue utilizado como sanatorio, pero después como cárcel, por lo tanto tiene sus paredes con leyendas, lastima que la gente se ha encargado de llenarlo de grafitis y letreros con lo que hace muy difícil distinguir cuales son de la época del hospital o la cárcel, si vi uno que decía "Por que no somos tan diferentes del resto" Lastima que este tan descuidado no se si sera por falta de interés o para mantener ese aire de misterio que atrae a la gente. Cuenta con un edificio anexo moderno donde se puede pasar la noche si se atreven.

se debería mejorar un poco, quizas agregar un lugar con la historia, ya que recibe bastantes visitantes a un precio normal, ese dinero debería invertirse en visitas guiadas, museo, o lugar de comida. es muy básico demasiado básicas las instalaciones aunque el lugar ayuda a olvidar esas cosas

Es un lugar de la historia de Cartago en épocas de enfermedades tabú, como la lepra y pestes, y otras como demencias mentales.Igual está conservado y es ideal para ir coñá igos a contar cuentos de fantasmas, por que tiene un aura de misterio y terror! Suerte, jajajaja
