This is beautiful architecture, combined with a morbid past. The stories of young pregnant girls being punished by nuns for their transgressions are enough to keep anyone awake at night. There is a hidden gem here - find the staircase that leads you to below the circular building where the girls where kept and sing your favorite hymn, the acoustics are INCREDIBLE!

Beautiful ruin with soaring arches. I learned that the roof was removed by coffee growers, who used the ruined churches as small plantations after one of the earthquakes because the soil was particularly good there (and perhaps because of the shade).

Not very well preserved, need more signals or posting so that you can tell what is all about. Definitely so that you must hire the guide services.

A lot to learn about history in Antigua, Catholicism, and great architecture. The underground round storage place had awesome echo!

Nice space to let children wander. Very interesting peak into the life of a nunnery. Of particular interest are the nuns rooms, bathtubs and subterrainean echo chamber. Nice gardens and functioning fountains. Recommend using a guide.

This is one of antigua's most beautiful sites and note to be missed. several beautiful gardens, fountains, and of course picturesque ruins. it has a small admission fee. the grounds are actually quite big and easy to spend time in. very maze like with different buildings and hidden fountains and gardens.

With a guide you can gain a true appreciation of how the nuns lived out their lives in a cloister. Cells they meditated in for days at a time still remain. If you just walk in without any info it will not be interesting. With an explanation it was highly informative.

Very interesting history and ruins. Location is pretty central to Antigua, like many other ruins. The entry fee is very very reasonable and good value.

I would not pay to see this. You can view it from the street and look in the doorway to see it not much. It is historical but, there are much more beautiful things to see in Antiqua than this.
