What a cheap and fun way to spend a couple hours with even the youngest train enthusiasts! In fact, the day we went happened to be a free Saturday. My twin 4-year-old boys, who love trains, enjoyed the opportunity to see, touch, and walk through real trains! There is a train museum near our home town of Seattle, WA that was a huge disappointment. This museum has well-maintained and clean trains. There was a lot of historical information about Guatemala's train history that I would have liked to take the time to read but my kids wanted to run through and play. I don't know if it just happens on the weekends but there were performers the entire hour we were there. Some weren't that great. Others were pretty good and captured my kids' attention. There are bathrooms here and they're actually clean. There is no food here to purchase but there is a Domino's Pizza in the same block. There is parking in the street in front of the museum. We got lucky enough to find a spot there. I'm not sure where the next closest safe parking location would be if nothing was available in front of the museum. The museum is in the heart of Guatemala City. I never felt unsafe but didn't make any attempts to find lunch or parking in the surrounding area. Most of what we found was street meat and I wasn't going to take a chance. I would bring a snack or lunch and water with you. We ate some snacks that we brought on one of the trains and none of the staff had any issues with it. It's worth it if you're in the area already or passionate about trains and railways.Actually it was only 2Q so almost free.It's quite small but can be interesting somehow.

The museum building used to be Guatemala City's main railway station, and since the national railway went bankrupt, they left the building, the locomotives, some wagons and other XIX. century style railway gadgets in place - and it makes for a nice, although not a terribly big museum! You can rush trough in 15 minutes, but if you are a fan of old railways, you can enjoy the atmosphere sitting on a bench inside - although the museum might be full of noisy kids since the entrance is only a few quetzales and the location is very convenient for the families.

a pesar de ser el centro histórico un lugar dificil para encontrar parqueo para un vehículo, es una buena idea tomar el servicio del trans metro para llegar. El museo es limpio y la entrada es económica. Muestra recuerdos del ferrocarril de antaño.

Para quien quiere sentir como era estar en una estación de tren en Guatemala, este es el lugar perfecto, tienen muchas cosas que se utilizaban antes. Además es un lugar en el que se pude aprender mucho sobre el ferrocarril en Guatemala.

pequeño pero interesante, buena información por parte del personal del museo, la ubicación no me agrada mucho por ser en el centro pero hay parqueo y eso lo mejora

Qué bonito es ir allí en familia y con los amigos, almorzar dentro de uno de los vagones del tren, y visitar el museo.

Con una cuota simbólica de dos quetzales por personas, (algo como 25 ctvs de dolar), puedes visitar este paraíso de la historia del ferrocarril de Guatemala, ahí veras sin un guion museográfico muy claro, las maquinas originales que algún día movieron a este país, cuando ves la grandeza de la otrora bonanza ferrocarrilera, veras que los protocolos museográficos quedan en segundo plano.El museo es interactivo, contemplativo y muy didáctico, se explica por si mismo y lo mejor es que te sientes niño de nuevo, para llegar ahí no resulta difícil, pero tienes que resolver donde dejar tu vehículo pues el paqueo es muy limitado.

Salvo la dificultad de parqueo y lamentar que nunca se reconstruyera el viejo edificio, que fue quemado, el museo guarda una increíble colección y la posibilidad de subir a vagones y locomotoras lo hace maravilloso e impactante para los niños. El tema de cafetería podría mejorarse.

Os caminhos de ferro estão muito bem representados no Museo del Ferrocarril. Muitas locomotivas e histórias sobre este meio de transporte. Museu rico.
