I went to the Popol Vuh and the Museum of Archeology and Ethnology on the same trip and this museum is quite small. If you skipped it, you'd see much of the same types of items at the other museums; however, the high points of this museum are that all signs are in English as well and that the layout felt geared toward describing the lifestyle of the people, including how overuse of water and clearing too many trees brought about the downfall. This was the only museum where I saw a lot of info about the diet of the people, division of labor between men & women, etc. You can easily see everything in the museum and read all of the info in an hour. There is a kids playground and other things out in the back as well.It is attached to the Miraflores Mall, where you'll pay the equivalent to what you would in the States and many of the stores ARE American companies. There are much more affordable places to shop, especially if you're looking for authentic items.

This is not a large museum but very interesting and worthwhile. Also check out the attached Miraflores shopping mall. Amazing!

Tucked away with an entrance inside the Miraflores Mall is a small but lovely museum/archaeological site. Never anyone there, a quick visit (although the outside grounds are worth lingering in). You'll learn about how this city came to be. Good shopping around as well!!

The good part is that is a very accesible museum located in a mall (Miraflores), they have a small reptile show and you can see a lot of the ancient culture that was before the city was constructed

Un pequeño museo, pero que si se lleva prisa y querer llevar a alguien de fuera a tener un pequeño contacto con la historia guatemalteca, puede llevarse una buena impresión. Ubicado en un centro comercial que facilita la hora de comer o tomar un aperitivo, y realizar compras. El parqueo es un poco complicado, pero siempr se encuentra lugar

Ubicado atrás del Centro Comercial Miraflores, este museo es lo que necesitas para conocer el asentamiento maya de Kaminal Juyu, en el cual esta asentado dicho museo. El precio es accesible así como la exposicion arqueológica de dicho lugar es impresionante.A mi juicio es uno de los mejores museos de la Ciudad de Guatemala

Me encanta, tiene un mini zoo, puedes ver el sitema de acueducto maya original, el museo es pequeño pero muy organizado y puedes ver una tumba maya original, hay piezas de cerámica únicas, y puedes caminar en un parque muy lindo, vien jardinizado y subir a los montículos que no son más que antiguas edificaciones del pueblo maya, parte de la ciudad de Kaminal Juyu, una forma de coniocer nuestra historia y ver que el valle de Guatemala esta poblado desde 1500 años antes de la era común.

Si bien el museo es pequeño, es un área verde en medio de la mancha urbana y su arquitectura es bella. Subir al montículo es agradable. En especial vale la pena actividades infantiles como "arquéologo por un día", excelente manera de entretener y a la vez brindar nuevas experiencias, educativas, a los niños.

lo que no me gusta, es que está a la par de un Centro Comercial, pero el lugar está bien cuidado, ordenado y tiene bastante información de lo que fue la laguna de miraflores, parte de la ciudad de Kaminal Juyú. Lo que mas llama la atención es la ciudad hecha a escala, para tener una idea de la grandeza de esa antigua ciudad.
