We were able to get out of our van and walk around on the bluff. Looked across and saw a male lion just sitting there - looking like something out of a movie. This is a beautiful park.

its was our fast time to tour samburu national park. and there are so many attraction along the way to samburu. the game drive was awesome we were able to view wild animals and Grevy zebra which is unique animal. adventures worth the while

Samburu though less visited is one of the most beautiful spots on the African continent, it is a land of contrast, dry and arid but the lifeline of the park and area is the great brown river [Uaso Nyiro] in the local language.The wildlife is unique and not seen anywhere else from the Grevy's Zebra with thin stripes, the majestic Reticulated giraffe only found in the northern part of Kenya, the Somali Ostrich showing off bluish greyish thighs and neck to the long necked gazelle aka Gerenuk. Life is abundant and one can chose to stay at any of the tented camps or lodges and enjoy the vista as well as traditional game drives and in between visit the local villages to learn about the Samburu culture, cousins of the famous Maasai people of Kenya and Tanzania

This reserve is near the Sarova Lodge. We went for an early evening drive. We saw lots of baboons, the Grevys zebra, the remnents of what was probably a leopard kill, Nik Niks, water bucks, a giraffe & many other animals.As others have mentioned, the scenery is beautiful! We stopped on a bluff & were allowed out to walk around & take pictures. Down below in the valley, we watched the animals grazing! It reminded me of "The Lion King" as we looked out on the plains!

This gorgeous reserve has lots of unique animals. Lots of lions, beautiful giraffe and rare zebras. We even saw the elusive leopard here. Worth a visit.

One of our three favorite wildlife parks in Kenya (the others being Nakuru and Amboseli). No vast herds, but the wildlife is actually more unique here. Well worth three days exploring the various environs. A local experienced guide is always helpful, but not really necessary in this park if you have your own vehicle. It's easy to find your way around, and a lot more venturesome.

I have had the pleasure of visiting Masai Mara, Sweetwaters & Lake Nakuru and I believer that Samburu is up there with the best. Our party of 6 all agreed that we would go back to its wildlife (we say heaps of Lions, Elephants, Giraffe, Leopard, Zebra, Crocs etc etc etc, but also the spectacular landscape and scenery was equally awe inspiring.Ii would recommend at least 2 days in the reserve to go on safari.

This game reserve has less animals but it is naturally beautified by land scape,acacia trees of different coiled shape small island shaped bushes.It is good to have a visit when you have 3 days in Samburu since it is like 2 kilometers from acher's post gate in Samburu game reserve.

in northern Kenya, which along with Samburu game reserve forms a large protected area. Probably the best game viewing in Kenya away from the southern parks, with some great scenery from the Matthews Range. Prolific bird life and photo ops.Part of the Laikipia range for elephants, so this area has Kenya's largest herds of elephant outside Tsavo ecosystem. Well worth visiting!!

We were not expecting such a wonderful array of animals. We were lucky to see all the game special to the area during our game drives. We saw leopard, cheetah, lions, Grevy zebra, oryx, reticulated giraffe, gazelles. I could go on and on. What a wonderful place to begin our African Safari.
