Marafa Hell's Kitchen is worthy a visit, It's located 30 kms North of Malindi. The best time to Visit is in the afternoon after lunch. After the beautiful and informative walking Tour of the place with a guide you will be welcomed to rest on the benches around as you enjoy the most beautiful sight of Sunset in Africa. Enjoy a minute by minute setting of the sun as it bids goodbye to the day, The colors of the African sun set and the variety of soils at hell's kitchen will leave you with tears of joy. It's an Amazing site.

The place has amazing sunset views that are simply breathtaking. Memorable pictures to be taken. The road leading to the site is not tarmacked though it has murram.

Getting to Marafa was quite difficult, with the terrible dirt road one has to take for a little more than an hour from Malindi. And apart from the hills and depression, there is nothing spectacular about the place. On the upside, the view around dusk is beautiful and great for photography.

hot as hell, but gorgeous and spectacular. Bring some water, lots of water and comfy shoes, better not flip flops

I have lived in and traveled around Kenya, a most beautiful country, and always found very friendly people...until I came to Marafa. We drove through an open gate, saw the depression, and when we went to leave, the gate had shut and we were told that we had to pay an exorbitant 1200 KSH per person fee for the four of us. There were no signs indicating any fee, and the gate was open with no one in sight when we arrived. After a standoff and negotiating, we paid 300 shillings per person, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.I would recommend leaving your car outside if you go, so you won't be held hostage to the local "mafia."
