Great place but if you want to do the tour get there really early. $5 for the tour but totally worth it. The staff is very nice and helpful. Very cool place and cannot wait to go back. And of course the beer is good too

The tour is really fun as, most brewery tours are! Our guide, Justin, was kept the information flowing in a playful way! I liked hearing the back story for the unusual name to which there is a hallway of dedicated art. There were takings during the tour which I really liked. And best of all for me, a stout lover, there were 6 dark beers for the tasting portion of the ticket. Tastes were much more generous than any I have seen before (and I have been to quite a few breweries) and you get a souvenir glass which is quite nice.

On Friday, November 28, we were told by brewery personnel that they start taking names at 4 PM for all tours that day. I asked if there's a possibility that they would take names prior to 4 PM and the individual told me no, all names are taken for the tour at 4 PM.We came back at 4:03 and found out that the 4:30, 5:00, 5:30 and 6:00 PM Tours were full and and only the 6:30 PM tour was available. How is it that all these toys get filled up in three minutes? We were clearly misled by people at flying dog. We did not wait around for 2 1/2 hours and will not return.

We went to Flying Dog on a Friday evening to hopefully beat some of the weekend rush. Tours cost $5, are first come first served, and run every 30 minutes. We arrived just after 4pm for the 4:30pm tour and were one of the first on the list. Too bad they can't serve their beer while you wait!! The full tour itself takes a little less than an hour, and then you will need time at the end to enjoy your 5 samples included with the tour! The tour was fun, interactive, and informative. I have done several brewery tours already, so I basically knew the premise of brewing but it was still entertaining and our tour guide Brendan was really fun and upbeat. Just FYI the tour and brewery use adult language - their number one selling beer is "Raging (Female Dog)" and they have beers called Pearl Necklace, Horn Dog, etc. If that sort of thing bothers you, you probably shouldn't visit this brewery. After the tour we hung out in the tasting room for probably about an hour doing our five good size sample pours. There wasn't a single beer between my husband and I that we tried that wasn't good. We even filled a growler - which is a great deal. I would highly recommend this tour to fun, beer-loving people!

You used to have to reserve weekend tours online 90 days in advance since they filled up so quickly. However, their new policy is a first come first served one that allows you to show up around noon and pretty much be guaranteed a tour at some point throughout the afternoon. You can even leave the premises after booking your tour and head elsewhere since they can't serve you for on site consumption. This may be changing within the next few months if the regulations change.Tours are $5 and include a nice flying dog glass. The artwork in the main hallway is worth the price of admission. A few small samples are provided during the tour and then 5 free samples are available post tour, good sized pours around 4-5 oz. Nice variety of beer on tap, everyone should be able to find something they like.

Visited on Oct. 11, 2014. Arrived at Noon knowing you no longer need reservations to take a tour of the brewery. There was already a line for the doors to open and when it was our turn to enter we were told the earliest tour we could take was at 1:30PM. They first tour is at 12:30 and run every half hour. It looks like they take 20 people per tour. Unfortunately, we could not wait there for our tour since they are not able to sell beer to you at the brewery. They will fill growlers if you take it away, meaning off the property. Lucky for us, I looked for places to eat on Trip Advisor prior to our trip to the brewery. I saw there was a place called Frisco's in the same industrial park as Flying Dog, so we drove down the street to have sandwiches there while we waited for our tour. Our tour guide, Justin, was excellent. The tour was well worth the $5 considering you get 5 good sample pours of beer after the tour in a cool glass you get to keep. Justin was very animated and knowledgeable about the brewery. It is a very enjoyable tour! Take it! There is lots of seating in the tasting area, a few tables, some couches, and lots of bar stools. There are also picnic table outside if the weather is agreeable. The store is well stocked with lots of great gift giving items. I just recommend you get there early and be prepared to wait for a tour even if you do get there before the brewery opens!

This place is legit! Out of 3000 current US breweries, Flying Dog rates #33 based on volume. Tours are $5 a piece and amazing! You do samples on the tour, along with 5 beer tickets on your wristband at the end. This place brews some of my favorite beers ever! I wish we had more in Iowa. Thanks to Flying Dog, well done. Cheers!!

My husband and I stopped here to pick up some growlers before heading out of town. First, it is such a a strange experience to find this brewery -- it's located in an industrial park -- not exactly where you think you'd find a brewery! But the small tasting area is fun and industrial in decor. Growlers are decently priced and service was good. We would've liked a tour, but they were all booked. It appeared that you got 5 decent sized pours as part of the tour. Next time!

To visit the popular brewery, you need to sign up on their website for a tour weeks in advance, and they are usually full... but don't let that discourage you. If you check back on the date you're interested in (or the day before) some times there are last minute cancellations. For $5 you are given a wristband with 5 tabs and a souvenir glass. The informative tour takes about an hour and the guide walks you through various parts of this small, very clean brewery. At the end of the tour you can sample 5 beers. Try some of their limited release or seasonal brews. When we were there they had a delicious summer ale called "Dead Rise" that was flavored with Old Bay.... You can't get more Maryland than that!

This tour was awesome! Some friends and I recently spent the weekend visiting a number of breweries and wineries. ...This was by far our favorite! The tour was sold out ahead of time but we took a chance anyway and stopped to see if we could tag along. They added our group of 4 without hesitation. The tour itself was unique and fun, our tour guide, Amy knocked it out of the park. The tasting was amazing...five generous samples of our choice and a souvenir glass. We filled up a few growers the beer was so outstanding! We all wish that we lived closer to do this more often!
