This attraction was ok for maybe someone that appreciates trains. My kids were a little younger at the time. Easily bored. Not a whole lot there.

This place is out past Wassilla and worth the trip. They've got trains cars you can go into, antiqued snow mobiles, an old coast guard tower, alot of vehicles and some artifacts. I went when it was rain'n and it really added to the atmospher.

We were visiting our son and daughter-in-law who have recently moved to Alaska or we would not have known about this very interesting museum. There were so many antique modes of transportation from boats to trains to planes to helicopters and also many antique tools -- there was even a covered wagon. It was a great step-back in history. The children loved climbing on the trains and in the old cars and firetrucks. The museum is very well done and very clean. The day we went was a cold, misty summer day but we still enjoyed every minute--especially the men and the boys! I would definitely recommend this museum for anyone interested in seeing the "real" antiques. There is also a nice picnic park on the grounds.

A good look at the "real" things that have made Alaska what it is today. From vintage airplanes that flew the skies duringWorld War II to god dredges, and steam locomotives, this is the place to stop. Easy access from the Parks Highway just north of Wasilla.

We spent a good couple of hours here and wouldn't have known about had not a friend from home suggested we call in if we had time. A gobsmacking variety of machinery & equipment on display showcasing the history of Alaskan development. Everything from chainsaws & outboard motors to full size aircraft & trains. For anyone interested in the Bush Pilots there is a whole section dedicated to the history of aviation in Alaska along with a railroad section inside one of the railcars. A very interesting attraction that deserves to be promoted to visitors more.
