A cool place to visit with small children as they have farm animals to pet and it is a cool place to learn about farm life during the early 1900s.

We were fortunate to visit the Farm this fall with a group and enjoy a catered dinner as well. The staff and owners were wonderfully accommodating and my group were completely transfixed by the history and stories. For anyone visiting this area, if you miss the Heritage Farm, you miss a true slice of West Virginia life. My group stated out of a 12 day trip, this had been the highlight and wished they had had more time. High praise indeed!

At first I thought the tickets were a little pricey but how can you put a price on time when you get the chance to step back into time and see how your grandparents and great grandparents had to live. History has no price. This place is a HAVE TO VISIT. You won't be displeased! The staff is very knowledgeable.

We go mostly to see the animals but they usually have a new exhibit which is entertaining and educational. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgable

This is a really cool place hidden on the edge of Huntington, toward Wayne County. It's like walking through a portal to the past.

The owners were very accommodating, but it also helped that a lot of relatives stayed overnight in the cabins. We used the second floor of the main building in June and something went wrong with the air conditioner, but it was still a wonderful time. They provided chairs and tables, as well. The cabins are REALLY nice to stay in and have that lovely old-timey cabin smell. They are made from actual old cabins, so that's probably the reason for that. I've been to several weddings at this venue and have never been disappointed. They do charge for tours, but the tours are pretty cool. There's a petting zoo!

WARNING: Do not follow your GPS. We did and the GPS showed us to a point that was not Heritage Farm Museum and Village. I called and was instructed to keep going forward and eventually we got to the right place. We learned there is another way that is easier instead of following the GPS and going on a windy road up the mountain and then down the mountain..Once we got to Heritage I sighed with relief. Unfortunately we arrived later than we should have. Give yourself lots of time to look around. We ended up rushing to see things like the Artisan Center and never got to the store. There were only three buildings open for the tour ... Transportation Museum, Museum of Progress and the Dolls & Carriages Museum. The people conducting the tours were excellent. They spoke with knowledge and enthusiasm on the subjects. We never got to see the movie that explained how this attraction came to be. I got the gist that the museum and village were constructed to house the antique collection of Mike Perry and his wife Henrietta. The way these antiques are layed out in the buildings are so wonderful. The building that houses the dolls and the doll carriages are so fantastic. The dolls have their rooms and scenarios all coordinated attractively. The antiques these people collected are awesome. The museums are so well done.Visit the artisan building. Interesting stuff there too. I wish I asked the name of the artisan who does the wire work. My gosh, he told us the story of how he used to sit in his doctor's waiting room and would pass the time away by shaping wire into forms. Then when he got called into the doctor's office, he would present his wire work to the doctor. The doctor kept it all ... it's on display in a glass case. More awesome is the wire bible scenes he made. This man is inspired, inspirational and he has a God-given talent. I did buy jewelry from him ... not that I wear a lot of jewelry but because I wanted to show my friends the pictures I took of this man's work and then show them that he does jewelry too.

lovely lunch , followed by a very well done tour. Guide was well informed and kept us focused on the progress made in so many areas between 1850 and 1950.watched weaving , printing , fabric styles . I have been to several other "village reproductions" of earlier times.....this one is the best.
