Fascinating history in this cemetery especially the Union and Confederate graves. The love letter left at Sandy Twist's grave is beautiful. It is very picturesque and definitely worth a visit.

I don't usually like cemeteries, but this is more like a park. You can feed the ducks and take a walk.

I was more than pleasantly surprised when my daughter suggested we drive through the first time. This cemetery is full of history and beautiful vistas - huge trees, duck ponds, hills. We'll return again and again.

Cave Hill is a beautiful place. It's a historic cemetery and a top ten arboretum in the USA. Some of the resting sites have beautiful bronze sculptures and even their own website. I recommend stopping the office for a free map of the interesting sites. For the geocachers out there, I host most of the historical sites inside, but nothing is hidden there. Three Thumbs Up!

Very well kept and clean. I use to go as a child for school projects all the trees have a plate with what type of tree it is. My kids love to feed the ducks. beautiful place and lots of history.

Col. Sander's grave is here and you can follow the yellow line to it's location. Also has many other famous Louisvillian's graves here. Beautiful cemetery well maintained, and though it sounds a bit morbid, lots of visitors stop in here for a photo at the Col's graveside.

We drove through the cemetery after the recomendation of a local. I find there are quite an interesting bit of history. This cemetery is huge. The entry area is open and looks like a park. As you go further in you see the advertorial stones and old headstones. The cemetery was established in the 1800s and the founder of Louisville is buried there. As you go further in you experience the rows and rows of dead from the Civil War. Men who served on both the Union and Confederate side. There are also many graves of unknown soldiers. One burial site most will recognize is Connelly Sanders. The park contains a lake and stream which is very peaceful. If you are interested in history or just want a break from rushing around the city, I recommend a short visit here to rejuvenate.

We often hike in this 297 acre historic cemetery in the middle of Louisville. Most of Louisvilles history makers are buried here. Most popular and famous are Col. Harland Sanders and George Rogers Clark and Family. The Cemetary is park like and especially beautiful in the in the spring when everything is blooming and after a winters day snow. We prefer to walk it but driving lanes cover much of the property. Be sure to get a map from the entry guard if you aren't very familiar with the place or it may take a while to find your way out. The map will also identify the many notables whose remains are resting here. This place is so special we even included it on a list of must sees for out of town guests who were attending our wedding.

This cemetery is huge, it is one of the best cemeteries I've been too. My main reason to come was to see Colonel Sanders gravesite but we spent more time looking at all the other stones. The entrance to the cemetery is fantastic. There is a spring by the pond.

Never seen a cemetery like this back at home.Surprisingly it didn't feel the least bit depressing, being at a cemetery and all. Also Colonel Sanders' grave is a must see!Couldn't find the "Jesus is my swingset" grave, though.
