Our first stop on the bourbon trail. Small distillery but nice tour. Very friendly and informative. Loved it and would recommend it.

It was neat to see a start up distillery. It was small but very interesting. Great history about the trade. Be nice to come back in a few years to see how they are doing, and the bourbon will be ready. A must see if you are touring the Distilleries in the area.

Cool to see the outdoors to close and personal. Nice history lesson on the area. Taste test was perfect after a 2 1/2hr drive

Very nice distillery. Takes you back to how the original set up was. Nice personal tour. This distillery takes you back to the beginning of any distillery. This must be how to get started. I can't wait for the bourbon to be ready this fall.

This is a diamond in the rough. What a neat spot. You have to go looking for it but will be glad when you do. It is small and very low production but certainly not low quality. The vodka was good. All of the products were unique. If you are touring the big boys, you have to stop here too.

A stop on the Craft Bourbon Trail, Barrel House is a very small operation. The tour itself was enjoyable, as you get to see a small-scale operation in process, which provides a unique perspective. Unfortunately we were a few months too early to try the first bourbon from this distillery, they have a few other products that are worth sampling. I would definitely go back when they have their bourbon ready for sale.

It's not the easiest place to find, located on the backside of what used to be a long-abandoned building with a debris-filled parking area, I wasn't sure what to expect. What I found was a welcoming guide in Bobby. This is a tiny operation. The sign says tours every hour, but I'm pretty sure you can show up whenever you want and knock on the door. Which is pretty much what we did.The entire distillery process takes place in one room. Bobby explained all the processes to us and showed us each step. Because they make a very limited amount of liquor, it was easy to walk up and look and touch. I particularly liked the pot still, which is right on the floor like in your great-granddaddy's garage.A very easy-going tour, Bobby fully answered all our questions and then brought us into the gift shop for samples. There's no Bourbon available yet, but the vodka was sweet, and the rum quite tasty. There are big plans for this place. I can't wait to see it in a year or two.

I am not a bourbon drinker but I thought it would be neat to see how it is done. This is a young business located in an old warehouse section of town. The tour was free and Noah the young man working at the distillery was knowledgeable and friendly. We had walked a bit far off of the beaten path and when we asked Noah about cabs, he immediately called a cab company and it was very reasonably priced. Thumbs up on the experience!

We visited the Barrel House Distillery in between trips to two larger distillers. It was well worth the time. We started our visit with tastings of Pure Blue Vodka, Devil John Moonshine, and Oak Rum, with the latter being our favorite. Distiller Noah Brown conducted both the tastings and the following tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable. It was a unique experience to deal with a principal rather than a tour guide. We are anxiously awaiting news of their first Bourbon release.

My wife and I toured Barrel House Distillery today and loved the experience! This is a great example of individuals with a vision and joy for making premium bourbon ... In short, they're doing what they love and it shows! Noah, the associate distiller, did our sample tasting and our tour and did a great job. His got us right in there with the work and showed us first hand how the spirits are made. We went home with our own bottle of Devil John moonshine! Must do especially if you are on the Ky Bourbon Trails.
