I went with my husband on a delightful afternoon walk. Free and fun. Beautiful view. There are a lot of people with dogs, bikes, etc so be careful.

The greenb belt is something that sets Boise apart from a lot of other cities out there. NY has Central park we have the green belt. It runs along the river and is fantastic. great place to walk, run, bike or just get outside.

This river side trail is well paved and getting better. Many sections are being widened and the pavement improved. The new white water park makes a great stopping point just on the edge of downtown. Watch kayakers and boarders challenge the man made Rapids for a bit the head down a little ways for some good eats along the path. Jump off anywhere in the downtown area to find food, entertainment or just to cruise downtown for a bit then get back on and continue out to lucky peak dam for a dip or to see the rooster tails in the spring. Only downside is the bicycle unfriendly section through Garden City's west end and some controversy at the east end of Eagle. Throughout Boise's section though, it's a great long ride for family, friends, commuting and lazy cruising.

The greenbelt runs along the scenic Boise river for "miles and miles" providing year round activities for visitors and locals alike. Walking, jogging, running, skating, boarding and biking are all every day activities on the greenbelt. It is a great venue for bird watching and in the winter you may see a bald eagle perched while watching the river for a tasty trout. Many users take a few steps off the greenbelt to throw in a line and test their fishing skills against trout (wild and stocked) and even stocked steelhead. Walking past one of the parks adjacent to it may allow you to observe some of the local wildlife including deer, coons, chipmunks and the like. In the summer one can watch the tubers and rafters floating the river. There are a number of restaurants ranging from fast food to fine dining that abut the "belt", so you can dine in or dine al fresco depend on the temperature and your inclination. But perhaps my favorite activity in the greenbelt is no activity at all. I really enjoy sitting at one on the many benches or pick-nick tables watching the folks go by, reading and enjoying the sun or the shade of the cottonwoods that line it.While the greenbelt is a wonderful place to visit, common sense should be used. Avoid isolated areas unless you are with other people as the wooded areas that shelter our wildlife may also serve as shelter for bad actors who can change a nice day into a terrible one. The police and the citizen patrol can't be everywhere.

Varied scenery along the Boise River. Family friendly. Easy walking trail. Not a big attraction during the winter months.

Wife and I enjoyed a 13 mile run along the Boise and after the run walked several additional miles to BSU to see the famous blue turf.

No matter the weather it is a relaxing walk or bike ride through Boise, over and under roads so no car traffic. The wildlife is good along the greenbelt. I Particularly like the path between Ann Morrison Park and the MK Nature Center.

The 25-mile Boise River Greenbelt is one of Boise's beloved treasures. The tree-lined pathway follows the river through the heart of the city. Enjoy scenic views, wildlife habitat and pedestrian access to the city's popular riverside parks. In the heat of the summer you will find many locals floating down the river in rafts that can be rented if you don't have your own. The greenbelt is a wonderful place to walk, run, ride bikes, fish, bird watch, people watch, or just relax with a good book. A 1.6-mile section of Greenbelt located in a 24-acre natural area on the south side of Boise River is unpaved and especially peaceful. . It's a must see, no matter what time of year you visit Boise, and don't forget your camera.

My husband and I have walked the Boise river Greenbelt from end to end twice now (not all at one time, but over the summer) and we love it. There is always something to see while walking and you can stop and fish if you wish. Everyone who uses the greenbelt, for walking, biking, running or letting their dogs swim a bit, always seems to be enjoying themselves.

Walking, running, biking or even just sitting along the Boise River Greenbelt seems to take you into a rural place in your mind. Yes, you still hear the traffic, but the river is soothing & time spent there is rejuvenating.
