A lot of thought went into designing this place. I brought my 3 1/2 year old and I would say toddler- older school ages would find something fun here.

They have a "dollar day" promotion that is once per month...everyone gets in for a $1 admission. While this is a great place and is so much fun...it isn't fun at all on dollar day. So crowded, so noisy. Spend the extra and enjoy Phelps Youth Pavilion on a regular day at full price.

We have been several times. It great, clean and always has new activities to try out. We reely like the squirrel cage and the stage with costumes.

We have visited the Phelps Youth Pavilion twice for their dollar days (the third Thursday of each month). Admission is $1 for the day, and it is such an amazing deal. My 3 year old has a great time although most of the attraction is geared for slightly older children. It is well worth it. We enjoy having a place to go when it is too hot or cold for outdoor activities. I am so grateful Waterloo has the Phelps Youth Pavilion.

My 2 year old LOVED this place. The staff was very friendly and the Pavillion offered many different activities for kids.

The Phelps Youth Pavilion is a hidden jewel in Waterloo. A large, well-planned activity center for children of all ages, it provides hours of interactive play with over 40 hands-on exhibits. A child cannot attend without an accompanying adult, and adults cannot enter without children. One of the highlights of the pavilion is the rabbit hole stairway. A large multilevel stairway has crawl spaces built in for children (and flexible adults!) to make their way up or down. This is a great way to spend a wintry day when kids can't go outside to play. If you're visiting in the area, give your children a playtime to remember. The pavilion is very well managed, and exhibits are regularly changed to invite repeat visits.
