A bit different from most wineries as you sit in a restaurant and they serve flights to you so they don't really discuss or go over the wines with you. Pizza was jut OK. Some pretty decent wines. nice atmosphere.

It has a wine country ambience nestled in rural Hamburg, New Jersey. The vineyards are adjacent to wine tasting building with a nice patio area to view them. Large glass windows in the wine tasting and eatery room allow for additional views. It's to be able to relax, have a fig Gorgonzola pizza, chat and enjoy a flight of wine. They offer a bistro type of menu. Once seated a waiter comes over to offer you a wine flight menu. There are 7 flights and each flight has four selections. You can not mix and match. The flights are $5-$7 and there is about an ounce in each glass. You can also buy a glass or bottle. I ordered flight 5 and 7. It was fall and I wanted to taste their fruit infused wines. I ended up buying bottle of the kiwi melon and apple pie fruit wines. Sitting back in my chair looking out at the vineyard and listening to two fellows playing their guitars, it was a nice afternoon. The winery is about 15 minutes from Mountain Creek If you are looking for an intense education and description of their wines. It is not here.

This is a fun place, especially if you live in Crystal springs or the environs. Great tastings, great prices per glass. We liked their blends and bought some bottles. We actually moved from a table to the bar because the menu needs to be further attuned.Bought some of the Reds, whites we wanted not available.People seemed to love the pizzas and flights. My wife wanted a full white and listen to the band but wasn't available.Band Great but we had to leave

I had the opportunity to visit Cava Winery and was totally taken back. I was expecting the typical Jersey winery experience, but discovered a gem of an establishment. Cava is unique to the winery experience due to the fantastic blend of wines as well as a spectacular culinary experience, which is simplistic yet fantastic. The service was way above the norm, and the ambience was sensational. If you visit, as I would highly recommend, be prepared for a relaxing and delicious moment to remember. The entertainment (live band) only added to the great time enjoyed. The brick oven pizzas are delicious, but if it's a salad you desire, that is there as well. GO! GO! GO! Run don't walk! Thank you Cava for a great time!

So today we went to the Cava Winery Wine and Wings Festival and I will NEVER go back there again! We paid $20 for a tasting and a glass. The line for the tasting was so long, honestly an hour-long line at least, so we decided to just buy wine. My sister waited on the Buy Line for over 45 minutes, while my husband waited on the line for food for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Woo Hoo, are we having fun yet?It was billed as a wine and wings festival, but the wings they were selling looked raw and unappealing. After the ridiculously long wait, we ordered fruit and cheese for $10, a pulled pork sandwich for $8, a pizza for $13, and a meatball sandwich for $8. The FOUR teenagers trying to handle this enormous line were trying their best, but clearly they needed probably twelve more workers with them. How was the food, after all this time? Pretty darn bad! I love basil, but the tiny pizza was covered over and over and over with basil, a winter blanket. The meatballs were inedible, and the pulled pork was dry.I also attended this festival last year, but at that time there were several wineries represented and the wings came from food trucks competing for votes. It was great! There was an actual wine tasting, and you tasted four chicken wings, two each from different local eateries, and then you voted for the best. We had a great time! This year, it seems, someone got greedy and tried to do it all on the cheep. What an epic fail. A fellowship develops on long lines and I did not meet one person remotely satisfied with the festival. I stood on the wine buy line for a bit and four people behind us just gave up and said they were leaving the festival. I also stood for a bit on the food line and two people in front of us just said they had enough and were leaving the "festival" altogether. Another four people in the immediate area left without having gotten one single thing other than their empty glasses for the admission price of $20 each.I brought guests with me from out of town. I talked it up and told them we would have a good time. I was embarrassed. I hope the owners of Cava are embarrassed, too.

Walked up to the tasting bar and was told to sit at a table. The placemat had a description of the wines being tasted. When I visit a winery I want to talk to someone that knows about the wines and the winery. Think of it more as a restaurant visit than a winery visit. I will say that the vineyard visible from the patio is very well tended. When I see what a mess some of these wineries fields are like it's no wonder the wine isn't very good.

My daughter and I had lunch and did a bit if wine tasting at the Cava Winery on a perfect Mother's Day. Everything was wonderful especially Frank and Nikki, employees there. We want to go back again soon. Thanks, Cava Winery, for making Mother's Day so special.

Tucked away in a quiet corner in northern New Jersey, it is a scenic drive getting there, and a peaceful place to relax and unwind; a twist to your typical wine tasting, you are seated in a cozy dining room where you can sample a 'flight' of wines ( usually 4 ) for $5 - $7, and order food to go along with the wines. We tried the roasted chicken with pears pizza- delicious ! I'm guessing you could also bring your own cheese n crackers like we usually do when we visit the wineries, but the food here seems really good. The pizza is good for 2, and costs $12. Other plates similarly priced. The waitresses were very attentive and informative on the wines. There is seating outside also, next to the vineyards, and events are held throughout the year, like live bands, etc...tours are also given. We will definitely be back !

We've been here a few times and noticed a lot of changes for the good. It was crowded but the staff was friendly. The band 'the Kootz' was a great reason to come and to stay for a while. In the past the music wasn't as good and the acoustics inside made it worse. We'll definitely be back more often this winter.
