Right here in our own backyard, an intimate, professional and very active, up close and personal theater the brings to life classics as well as originals. We are blessed to have such an asset in the region for all of us to enjoy. More people should know about it, but at the same time I do not want to lose the quaintness of the little theater that could. You should go, it may surprise you.

This theatre of about 100 seats offers interesting - not seen everywhere- shows, and several by the artistic director. Several were set in local South Jersey, particularly in Camden addressing the racial struggle as the ethnicity of the town changed. The sets are amazing and very professionally done on a shoestring budget. The theatre is located in the heart of Camden. Some who aren't familiar with the area may choose not to attend as they are afraid of Camden in the evening. We never had any problem. There is a church across the street and we park in their parking lot. The little neighborhood looks out for each other. The theatre is ahead of its time as it waits for the waterfront to develop.

Having discovered this theater company online through visitnj.org, I decided to check it out for something different to do. While it is not in the greatest of neighborhoods, it is still worth a visit. The acting was great and the staff/volunteers were very pleasant. I saw a production of Tennessee Williams' Kingdom of Earth. It is a small theater that sits 96 people, which makes any seat intimate. The ticket prices are reasonable as well.
