Interesting to see something like this. It was put together the tear my Husband and I were born. Hope we are here when we are 100 for the opening

We stopped here as a quick stop on our way through Amarillo. It was a nice park to get out and walk around in, but as others have noted, there isn't much to see here. It's the equivalent to stopping at one of those roadside historic markers that you see on the interstate. It's not far off the highway, so swing by, get out walk around and then head on out to your next stop.

Science lovers rejoice. This free-to-see monument is a great little stop. If you have school age kids, they'll learn a bunch. If you just like nerdy monuments, you need to stop. If you have young kids, there's a park right by there so they can run around. The monument is on the grounds of a Discovery Center. The monument is free, the Center is not. We didn't stop in the Center. But the monument kept us busy for an hour or better just reading up on helium (who knew there was a HISTORY of it and that there's a REAL reason for the monument in Amarillo). Part time capsule, part sundial, it was worth the stop.

If you are into science, and understand the periodic table, you'll appreciate this monument. It was awesome.

We only saw this because it was next to the discovery center. It was not a big deal or very memorable for our family but perhaps others would like it.

My husand and I went to see the Helium Monument which is just outside of the Discovery Center and were fascinated by the large sundail and the fact that it is a time capsule as well. It would be a fun outing for kids and it's just outside of the children's museum so it's not that hard to get to.

In the parking lot of the Discovery Center. Just a funny looking sculpture but educational. Would not drive jut to see if but if in the area worth a read.

We really enjoyed this beautiful structure and had an interesting discussion about what might be in the time capsules. Too bad we won't be around when the last one is opened!

trip advisorで偶然発見して行ってみました。訪れたときは数人の観光客が写真を撮ってましたが、長居する事なくすぐに立ち去っていました。日本人には余りなじみがないことですが、このあたりで天然ガスの副産物としてヘリウムが摂れ、アマリーロに備蓄基地があったそうです。特になんと言うこともない記念碑ですが、小学生の子供が将来写真をみて化学に興味を持ってくれると良いと思って、訪れて写真を撮りました。
