We really enjoy this lake. We are limited when it comes to water around here. This is the largest lake around the Lubbock area. There are bathrooms and camping. There is a small store by the entrance. Even when the lake is down it is still accessible.

I haven't been here in years, but I loved the fishing here. I caught more fish than ever have. Camping was good, but we did primitive camping with no water or bathrooms, but it was peaceful. We're in Austin now, but when we can we'll return.

Lake Alan Henry is a big and beautiful lake. You can fish off the piers or go boating. You can camp out too. The lake as dropped many feet so be careful boating and swimming.

This is a nice lake where you can put your ski or pontoon boat in for a day of pleasure. There's also an RV park there where the locals have semi-permanent setups, many covered, for their RVs. I expect anyone with an RV can stay for a few nights, but I did not investigate that.

This is a nice big lake to boat or fish on. We enjoy water skiing and taking the kids tubbing. When we want to get away from the lake traffic, we find a small cove somewhere and anchor down so we can just relax and swim in the fairly clear water.

My husband and I went to see Lake Alan Henry while visiting Lubbock. We camped at Buffalo Springs Lake about an hour away. You can not see this lake without a boat. They have a marina and a very small fishing area that might accomodate 15 people. It would have been nice if the lady who took our 15 dollars would have told us this. We told her we had never been here before and even asked for directions to view the lake. This was a waste of 15 dollars. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is I am sure it would be a nice place for someone with a boat.

Lol it's the ONLY lake in the area unless you consider the nasty ponds they call Buffalo Springs and Ransom Canyon. Good fishing...could be better if the bass club boys would ease off on their tournaments, one and most often TWO every stinking weekend is too much guys...there needs to be a petition filed to limit the tournaments to one per month TOTAL...I'm an avid fisherman and previous tournament fisherman as well but your putting needless stress and pressure on our ONLY decent bass lake within 200 miles. Take it easy and protect our only resource fellas. Try fishing for what it's supposed to be...FUN, not showing off your shiny rig and trying to out do your buddy for a few bucks while overfishing our only lake, now that Lubbock is using it for city water we may not have it long.

The only think it could use is more dock slips and a store/marina on the water. Other then those, we love our lake. The people are always friendly and the lake patrol are professional

It was a nice drive around the lake. Could not get very close to the water except at a boat ramp. Very blue water.

This is awesome lake for what ever your needs are. The only drawback is you need a boat to really enjoy the lake. It can be hard to walk down to the shore line. Still, its a must see.
