This is a big park with a variety of things to do and varied terrain. It's great for hiking, biking and horseback riding as well as just sharing a picnic lunch with your family. There are plenty of playground areas scattered throughout as well as picnic tables-many by the water. The park is located ont he river's edge and even has a splash park area for the kids in the summer time.

If im not at work or home im ususally here riding some kind of bike! The road is twisting and steep and so are the trails. I learned to mountain bike here in the 90s moved to Az and rode in Co and Ut. For this far east and in town, you can't ask for better city park! Be Safe,Tim

We visited on our way from Austin to Dallas. We arrived in Waco and read some about the scary things in Cameron park and decided to check out ourselves. I can say this park at night is very dark. We easily found Jacob's Ladder and took a few steps up but it is very steep and tough to do at night. We explored Lovers leap and found the whole experience a lot of fun. I'm sure this place is beautiful during the day. There are many ghost stories surrounding this park.

This is a great place to get away from stresses of driving or daily life. There are many mini little park areas throughout this park. Hiking trails, mountain bike trails are in abundance as well. Several places to stop are Lover's Leap for the view and walking up Jacob's Ladder (steps). You can also place frisbee golf along the river banks. Cameron Park is definitely a positive for Waco! Well worth taking some time here to enjoy nature.

Great place to take time to get away from the all the stress of traveling or just daily life. You can park and take the sidewalk or take to the bike trails in the interior of the park or simply drive through the park. I highly recommend walking up "Jacobs Ladder" (steps) and visiting Lovers Leap. If you have the time, stop by Outdoor Waco, 215 S. University Parks Dr #101 254.300.4448 and rent a bike, kayak and SUP and really get into the park physically. Oh, remember to take your disc and enjoy free all year round disc golf.

My wife and I were visiting Waco for Baylor homecoming when she decided to surprise me with a morning of hiking. I had only driven by Waco on the way up to Dallas, so I wasn't expecting much.I was surprised and elated by the Brazos River and the expansive trail system offered by Cameron Park. The park includes plenty of pavilions for picnicking, playground areas for kids, ramps for boats/kayaks to enter the Brazos, and miles of trails accommodating runner/hikers, mountain bikers (with rated trails), and horseback riders. The park has signage posted frequently around the park that provides helpful maps of the park and trails and also gives short explanations of the history of the area and the significance of the trails. I'm a bit of a history buff, so I really enjoyed reading and learning more about the park and the development of the area.We started the day climbing Jacob's Ladder, a short flight of stairs going from the river up to the club house on the upper ridge. I confidently surged up the stairs full pace trying to set a new record, only to stop 75% of the way up with burning quads and glutes. I walked the rest of the way and enjoyed the little side trip. The rest of the morning we hiked the trail along the river and relished the lovely fall weather, the peaceful beauty of the river, and the chatter of friendly squirrels along the way.

I have been in many parks around the us, but this is one of the best, lots of trails for beginners, intermediates and advanced, i love doing trail running, if you do not know the park you can use the app or a map that can find in the bike stores, be careful with snakes, i have seen some and don't know if those are poison snakes, during summer even in the shade its hot but there is drinking water and bathroomsi Have heard from some people that at night its dangerous but at have been there after 7 and i don't think so

Beautiful park. Great walking trails. The best views of the Brazos River. Make sure you take some food for the ducks in pecan bottoms. There is a great splash park for the kids.
