This cooperative gallery of local artists is a great asset in the town of Orange. Inevitably the work on display is a mixed bag, but much of it will please even a picky collector--from watercolors to oil paintings to ceramics. Classes are held here, and on our visit, one ceramicist was at work, and was so happy to share her work and her process with us--it was delightful. Along with a few local shops such as Melrose Antiques and Shabby Love, it makes Orange a terrific small town stop while you're touring Virginia wine country or historic sites.

Great little gallery to stop in, we came in December, lovely items for sale, made by Virginia artists.

If you are in the area, do stop by. There are surprising works of art there and the friendly staff will interact just as much as you wish, telling you about the artists.

It's amazing what this small town art gallery has done. It's exhibits are beautifully curated and diverse in subjects and media. Plus there is an excellent gift shop of handcrafted items, including adorable sweaters and aprons, cards, handcrafted bowls of honeysuckle vines and jewelry. Also a studio for "outsider art" with sales of a local man, Joe Sims, who has shown several times in New York. Definitely worth going out of your way to see. A current show on "Spring Training" with a baseball motif is typical of the scope. Higher quality than one would expect in a small town. Free admission.

For locals, come-here's, and tourists alike, spending some time at The Arts Center In Orange is always a good idea. There's always an interesting exhibit, a well stocked gift shop full of work exclusively by Virginia artists, and the sweetest volunteer staffing the cash register.

Lovely gallery and shop! I like to buy local art when I travel and this is the perfect place. You will find unique, local fine arts and crafts here. Lots of variety. The people running the place are very friendly.
