Never really noticed this winery sitting off to the side, so we decided to stop in and give it a go. Small parking lot at the bottom was full, so we had to park at the top of the hill in their over flow lot behind a church. Walk down to the winery was a bit treacherous, as recent rains had washed a lot of the gravel out so there were large ruts in the walkway. If you are traveling with anyone elderly or with a health condition, I would definitely drop them off in the bottom parking lot first. Tasting is available for $5 per person unless for all wines or you could taste just a couple for free. All the wines we sampled were good but the price per bottle was a little high in my opinion – especially in comparison to other wineries in the area. Do have to say though that they had some of the cleaniest winery bathrooms I've seen in awhile!!

Stopped here while riding Katy Trail. They do not open until noon so grab something to eat at the outdoor patio across the street if you get there earlier. We liked the Norton and the Reserve. We also bought some cheese to go very good .

The staff, especially the owner, Dale, are very, very personable. We enjoyed the conversation a lot. The wine itself is only "so-so". If you're looking to try some good Missouri wines, opt for Mount Pleasant or Bommarito, if your time/resources are limited.

We were with a group of six the first time we stopped here and liked it so much we went back as a couple. The tasting room is cozy and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful in explaining the different selections. They give very generous pours and do not make you feel rushed at all. They have a few snacks available for purchase as well. The outdoor area is relaxed with a laid-back atmosphere with a beautiful pavilion housing a fireplace, numerous tables and chairs, etc., and a patio with a nice view of the river valley in the distance, or you can sit in Adirondack chairs on the hill, or on a blanket in the grass. Bathrooms are very nice, and there's plenty of parking. The first time we were there we found that it was actually the owner doing all of the pours (Dale), and we were so impressed with the hospitality and the overall experience, that we joined their wine club! We have since been back for several of their events (our favorite is a Friday night at the movies outdoors showing), and a party of the unveiling of one of their wines. Overall recommendations:- Try something you haven't had in a wine before (I am now a Norton fan, and never was before this experience).- After the tasting, pick your favorite bottle and relax on the patio or pavilion (they allow you to bring in food of your own, so perfect for packing a picnic lunch)- Try attending one of the events (at some of their wine pairing events you learn a lot about the wines)- Don't hit this place last if you are winery-hopping, because then you won't be able to take your time and get the full experience (or you won't remember it... ha!).- While they have a lot at the top of a hill, if the Katy Trail lot across the street isn't full, this is the most convenient parking space to the winery's tasting room. Just be careful crossing Highway 94 on a busy day!Overall, we found this to be a GREAT experience. We will continue to visit here.

Enjoyed a full tasting (very generous pours!) and really enjoyed it! He gave us a free tasting because he was running a few minutes late. Had some very good wine. 9 out of 10 were dry wines, which I appreciated. The man serving was very nice. Definitely recommend!

This little tasting room/winery is right on the main road in Defiance and well worth a stop. They offer several wines, locally grown, as well as an assortment of mustards and small souveniers. There is also offer a grape stomping yearly if you live here--very popular with the locals. Stop in and chat - can't miss the bright yellow farmhouse - and plan on spending a pleasant half hour or so. I didn't find the wines suited my taste buds but bought one of their delicious mustards as did all of my friends. The staff was very helpful accomodating and offered good advice about their wines. A quick addition to a wine tasting day trip.
