Nothing fancy, just a small shop that sells and repairs bikes as well as offers snacks and drinks for sell. When riding the trail, if you didn't really look for it, you would miss the wooden bridge that takes you to the back entrance. They do have public restrooms which is a nice bonus on the Katy Trail.

Defiance is located on the Katy Trail which stretches across the state of Missouri. We turned up on Saturday, was able to try and test the perfect bike and head off with minimal fuss. The trail is an excellent bike path. Remember to take water as there are no facilities unless you want to stop in one of the tiny little gem towns along the way. There are worst ways to spend your weekend, for sure.

Defiance staff were extremely polite and very helpful. Rode to Augusta where we were made to feel like we intruded on a nap. Too bad.

We had a great experience with Katy Trail Bike Rental. They are located right on the Trail in Defiance in a lovely turn of the century building. We made a reservation via their website and they confirmed this with an email, which is a good start for any business that hopes to be viewed as professional. They have a very extensive stock of bikes, the owner told me they are the biggest rental operation in Missouri, and at the end of the season (November) sell all the bikes and then buy new in April. The owner was a chatty old guy and he was patient in making adjustments to the saddles for my girls. We followed his recommendation to head south west towards Augusta. It was about 7 miles along a flat, well maintained path. After a pit-stop at the Augusta Brewing Company we made our way back. On returning the bikes, the owner immediately gave them a good wash down, leaving them gleaming once again. Defiance is a great place to go cycling and KTBR is a well-run business.

We used the Katy Trail Bike Rental shuttle service to transport us from St Charles back to our car in Clinton, MO after riding the Katy Trail. They were also kind enough to rescue my wife when she was unable to complete the final leg of our trip. We'll certainly use them again when riding the Katy Trail

Todd, the owner, and his employees provide wonderful service regarding cycling activities for the Katy Trail. This includes shuttle and van service for touring groups. I also shipped my bike to their shop, and it was reassembled, and prepared for cycling the trail. Todd has a wonderful knowledge of the history of the area, and his company was responsive to any needs related to our ride.The Katy Trail was a wonderful experience for me, as I never visited Missouri, and I'm used to the flat lands of Florida. Use this company for cycling needs on the Trail.

We brought our own bikes down to stay in St. Charles. Ended up 20 miles west to Defiance and met the most accomodating gentleman ever. The owner greeted us and offered to air up our tires and the use of the exceptionally clean restrooms. Told us some history about the town and suggested we eat across the street at the Roadhouse. Apparently they have nearly 100 bikes to rent and in excellent condition. Located right on the trail, you'll cross a short wooden bridge to the backside of the property but it's open on both sides. They had drinks and bike equipment. He was so right about the Roadhouse, lunch was fantastic. Prepared us for the 20 miles back to St. Charles. Overal Defiance was a great stop!
