This mall has most of what anyone could ask for. Dozens of stores and food vendors abound and at Christmas time, even Santa can be found as an attraction. This is a good place to warm up and walk in the winter time and has plenty of seats and places for kids to play with adult supervision. One could easily spend an hour here just looking around if they are from out of town. Average to above average would be my rating as most malls are like other malls.

It's just very, very tired. You don't have a lot of choice in this area any more, so I get the feeling that they don't try that hard.It's safe and clean, and has decent stores, but don't expect much more.Also, the arcade area has to go. Seedy!

The mall has four main wings and is anchored by four department stores: JCPenney, Sears, Macy’s (formerly Hudson’s and Marshall Field’s), and Burlington Coat Factory (formerly Mervyn’s). You will find most of the same chain stores that a shopper would expect in a large mall, as well as a few locally-owned shops. Genesee Valley also has what it calls the “Outdoor Village”, which is somewhat like an outdoor strip mall with some upscale shops and restaurants.The mall has a few places that allow customers to have fun and sit back. One of its outlets is a branch of the Genesee District Library, and another is a family game center with all kinds of arcade games for the kids. Plus, the owners have included a train ride that takes children through the mall. The food court is located in the center atrium (where all the wings meet), and has its own separate level. The selection here is perhaps the weakest in the entire mall; some of the spaces are empty, and several restaurants have closed here many times before. It could be because they did not see enough business for being on the second level, and they would have probably been better off if the court were in the mall’s main area on the first floor.Genesee Valley is located on the corner of Miller and Linden Roads, which is a very busy area of the county. So, getting here may not be all that easy at times, depending on the day of the week and time of the year (of course, they tend to be busier on the weekends and especially around Christmas). It is a good place to shop, though, and if you are looking for something in particular, you will likely find it.

Their are some good stores at his mall-Sears, Penny's, Barnes and Noble, and the food court is very typical. It's not a bad place to hang out or shop, given its size.

Overall, I was very pleased with our visit to the mall. We went for entertainment rather than shopping. Our 3.5 year old really enjoyed painting ceramics at Fired Up Ceramics as well as looking at the puppies and kitties at The Family Puppy (which was nice & clean, I'm not a fan of pet stores). She also loved the popcorn from Pretzel Peddler and no mall trip is complete without a ride on the train. We wrapped up with lunch at Palace Coney Island, their gyros are great and they serve Koegels & Vernors! We had a nice, enjoyable day.

The owners of the mall still care. Flint has been a war zone and yet they still put money in to keep it nice. Tennants have declined but they kept up on the upkeep. Good stores, good food court.

Almost 100% occupancy! Rare to find in this economy. They must be doing something right.Center court features seasonal appearances of Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, etc. Kids play area and food court are also located in the mall. For older kids and teens, there is a video arcade and a Library branch with multiple internet workstations. Lots of stores with 4 large anchor stores: Macy's, Sears, JCP, Burlington Coat Factory.
