If you don't care much for museums, or if you love them, this is a great place to go. You can get through it in 30-60 minutes, and the museum houses artifacts from Pennsylvania veterans--mostly WWI and WWII, but also Korea and Vietnam. The volunteers who staff the place are friendly and knowledgeable (my wife now knows more than she ever thought possible about different kinds of medals), and there are very interesting artifacts and personal memorabilia. It's definitely worth the short time investment to see this place. There is no charge, but you can support the museum with a free-will donation, which I would suggest.

Hidden under a Trader Joe's in an old Pennsylvania National Guard Armory, this museum tells a good story mostly about WWII. Interactive kiosks and cases with artifacts donated by local veterans. Excellent staff composed of volunteer veterans who are eager to share their experiences and knowledge. Great trip for children to learn about the Greatest Generation.

If you're local, it's good to visit this place at least once, but I wouldn't recommend a special car trip to just get there. Also, the exhibits and the acoustics are very loud.

Located in a former Armory,this is a great spot to visit to remember our past. The site is has an incredible amount of exhibits to keep your interest and make you recognize the efforts,courage and valor of those men and women who have served for our freedom and linerty

Taking a stroll through Media trying to kill time before dinner we saw the sign for the museum and thought; "why not". We expected a musty smelling basement museum with a few random artifacts but what we saw were very nicely laid out exhibits. There were also a group of veterans sitting around chatting and a few came up to us and answered some questions we had. One gentleman showed us a video from one of their many interactive screens, the video featured the man himself when he was in the Korean war. There is a small gift shop where you can pick up stickers, books, tshirts, etc. I recommend this to all people who have an interest in history and/or military. They do have a recommended donation of a couple bucks.

Located below the Trader Joe's market in the old National Guard Armory you'll find this hidden treasure. The Pennsylvania Veteran's Museum houses exhibits about many of the wars our vets fought. Within each section are weapons, uniforms, and other materiel from that period. World War II gets the most space, but the Civil War, WWI, Korea and Vietnam are represented. The museum is modest in size but packs a lot into its small package.In addition to the collections, the museum also houses a wee theater--which we did not visit--where visitors can watch a number of short productions, including personal recollections of Keystone State vets.We stopped in on Memorial Day. Veteran volunteers were on hand to discuss their experiences. I'm guessing this might be the case on non-holidays, too.I recommend a visit here for anyone with an interest in military history or those wanting to sneak in a lesson on kids. This would be an excellent destination for school trips or youth group outings, which is a Pennsylvania Veteran's Museum specialty.
