If you are a fan of one of the biggest sci-fi movie franchises that starts with Star and ends in Wars, come to Discovery World in October. The event is not really advertised but wow! People in costume, duels, robots running around, realted crafts, and still using the Discovery World exhibits makes this a must-do in October.

We took our nephews to Discovery World when they were in town and they loved it.The interactive displays were fun and kept them entertained for hours. I think their favorite part was the aquarium. It was beautiful and had a lot of neat fish and sharks. There is also an interactive sting ray exhibit which was a big hit.

Coming from Chicago we have high expectations for our museums and this one delivered. We loved this place! The exhibits were very well designed and just pretty cool to look at. Everything was interactive and the whole place was well designed. We could have easily spent the whole day here. Our boys, 9 & 11, stayed engaged the whole time and there was 0 whining. They loved the flight simulator and had a great time in the Les Paul sound exhibit. The aquariums were very cool as well. We will go back! The only draw back was massive construction and the exit for the museum was closed so it took us a while to find our way there.

Located in Milwaukee on Lake Michigan shores the Discovery World Museum is a very interesting place to visit. You can book a ride on a sailing vessel, they offer classes and exhibits and have an awesome Les Paul exhibit as he was a Wisconsin native. There are many famous rock bands that pay him homage in the display and it was on of my favorites. Plan your visit not to coincide with any special event such as Star Trek because there will not be available parking on the grounds although there are parking structures in the area. Also it gets so crowded that it is difficult to see all of the various displays and activities offered There is a "Fin and Flick" event on Friday nights in summer where you are seated outdoors looking at a screen overlooking the Lake Michigan boating activities and offers a fish fry. Offers much for the curious and adventurous spirit within.

We LOVE going to Discovery World with our 5 year old and 9 year old. The aquarium is great, with a touch pool where you can touch small sharks, sting rays and sturgeon. There's a huge old ship that kids can climb around on called "The Challenge." The Les Paul exhibit is great. There's a flight simulator, a bed of nails, a human hamster wheel to learn about energy. So many great hands-on exhibits throughout the museum! Always a great place to visit.

We have a 3 year old and a 13 year old son. Both of our boys enjoy coming here. The aquarium is a lot of fun. The music exhibit is a lot of fun. There is a lot of musical history in Milwaukee and the museum does a great job showcasing it. There is enough to do for everyone to have a good time.

What do you do with an energetic toddler when it's too cold to be outside? Take a trip to Discovery World, that's what! Our little one was too young to really appreciate all the attractions, but she loved running around, and pressing any button she could find in the technology and science area.Us parents enjoyed it too. The aquarium and Les Paul's House of Sound were my personal favourites, while my husband was pleased there was a golf exhibition on when we visited.I liked that there were so many interactive elements; that there was friendly staff pottering around, offering interesting nuggets of information, and that it is well set up for small children (e.g. steps in the restrooms so kids can reach the sinks). Oh, and another great thing... it's accessible for strollers/wheelchairs with elevators and ramps. There's free on-street parking about 250 yards from the museum's entrance during the winter months, if you want to save a few dollars when you visit.

Many interesting things to see. Great and easy parking. It's not cheap but it's well worth the money. We go every once and a while and take the grand kids. They love it.

Great way to spend a chilly Sunday afternoon. Everyone in our party of five, ages 4 - 69, found something new, interesting, and fun. This is worth multiple visits.

PROS: ASTC member museum; covered parking in the basement of the museum building (there may be cheaper parking outside in the street but paid basement parking lot is heated and secure. We ended up leaving our coats in the car and taking the elevator upstairs. Great selection of exhibits for the tech-minded young ones (the first floor of the main museum) , the whimsical teens (great guitar exhibit in the 2nd floor including the Rocktopus), the Arts and Crafts women (Kohl's crafts room) the Dads with Hobbies (Golf exhibit and house tech advancements in the 2nd floor) to the people with more exotic tastes (the Reiman Aquarium complete with fresh and salt water touch pools; a model of turn of the century ship upstairs ) There is also the beautiful frozen Lake Michigan with a lighthouse, bridge and factory chimney in the distance. Fairly affordable small food store (you buy food and eat in covered board walk linking the main museum to the aquarium). A great 4-5 hour stop. CONS: parking can be expensive ($5 for members all day but can cost up to $10 or more for non-members); lacking gift shop
