The cemetery is in a natural bowl--it's a lovely setting. I was on a bus tour so we were not allowed to stop. But the driver gave a good commentary and drove slowly with some stops along the way.

As we were on an organised visit driver said we were not allowed to stop but could only drive through slowing down at designated parts. Not sure of rules if travelling independently!

Beautiful area and the memorial itself was very humbling. Provided. Good description of battles and ares of WWII, Korean and Vietnam wars. Was expecting headstones like Arlington, but as still a sombering experience. The drive from Waikiki was a bit confusing on a number of side streets.

It's not sad, like some cemetaries...it's more like a beautiful resting place for our heroes of pacific wars. we owe them so much and this beautiful peaceful place reflects that

If you want a spectacular view of Waikiki there are few places that can compete with Punchbowl. It is hollowed ground for the fallen heroes of the past. Be respectful or don't go.
