Lanai is a beautiful island, and the best way to explore it is on horseback. We were fortunate to have a private trail ride with Sean--he's got a natural feel for horses and is extremely experienced and knowledgable about the terrain and the people and animals who live there. This is probably the best trail ride I've ever done (and I've done many). En route, we passed Molly and another trail group only once--the rest of the time, it almost felt like a private island retreat. The office is friendly and organized -- Sean and Molly and co run a clean, tight ship. Strong Recommend!

Would I do it again?A resounding yes. Beautiful and friendly. No uptight attitude. Every service detail, has been attended to. A must on your next trip to the Hawaiian islands.

No poser cowboys at these stables ! Just minutes from the Four Seasons Lodge at Koele, a stay in Lanai would be incomplete without a horseback excursion from Hawaii Western Adventures. Polite and Professional they took care of our group and were extremely accommodating and thoughtful. Be prepared for Red Dust and a jacket for higher elevations.

We stayed at Manele Bay and went up the Koele to have lunch and let our little ones (ages 4 and 2 1/2) ride horses. We were worried they'd be too little, but thought we'd try anyway. Molly and the others at the Stables were so nice and accommodating! The staff there are not surfers posing as cowboys - they are the real deal. Very knowledgeable and professional Our girls each took a ride on Whitt, and they couldn't have had more fun. They still talk about it. The faucet in the restroom wasn't working, so the staff let us clean up in the employee "lounge". No worries. Most of us can stand a little inconvenience as long as we're treated well.Thank you!

We went to the Stables at Koele to go UTV riding. What a day. Molly was our guide and really showed us all the wonders of Lanai. We originally signed to do the 1.5 hr ride but quickly changed it to the 3 hour tour.. This was amazing. The trails took you from the lower meadows up to the mountain tops to a breathtaking view of all the island, and back into the beautiful lowlands of the former pineapple farmland. The Monro trail was rugged and a fun way to see Lanai. A must. The stables were amazing and the horses are well taking care of as well. If we had time we would have also liked to had gone on a trail ride.

My wife and I took a morning horseback with Cody, a real life cowboy, as our guide and it was awesome! We were the only ones that signed up for this time, so it was just us and our guide. The scenery was beautiful and our guide was very knowledgeable and informative, not to mention funny. We would definitely do this again and recommend it to everyone, whether you are experienced or not.

My husband and I travel extensively and try to ride in different locations. He surprised me with a 90 minute ride this morning at Koele. Everyone that we interacted with at the stables were friendly and knowledgeable. Our "official" guide was Molly and she was fantastic. Her loyal sidekick Gunner, the bird dog, also accompanied us and made things even more entertaining. Molly spoke of the area, the people, the landscape etc. The views were amazing. The horses were very well trained and beautifully kept. She was easy to talk to and she had a great sense of humor. We have enjoyed many activities while in the area and I would put this at the top of our list.

Molly took my wife and I on a two hour ride - excellent guide, great/fresh horses, fun trails, moved out a lot, great views and great conversation throughout. My wife's the passionate rider, I just go along to enjoy everything. I highly recommend Stables at Koele and Molly - we had a lot in common with her and thoroughly enjoyed our time riding together. Thanks Molly for adding to our wonderful 30th anniversary trip to Maui and Lanai.Lynn Howard

First of all, I am totally befuddled by anyone who claims thatntherenis nothing to do in Lanai! Are they crazy ? We recently spent two weeks there and had a blast. Diving, hiking, golf, trap shooting.....and perhaps our highlight....riding horses in the "up country" at the Koele stables. Our guide Cody was super informative, knowledgeable, and personable. He and his family are residents and he is an accomplished former rodeo competitor, as well as hunter, guide, and all-around nice guy. You can tell immediately at check in that Molly, Cody, et al are pros. They have excellent equipment and horses, and run a top notch service. I wouldn't go to Lanai and NOT do this, and my wife and I aren't really even avid horse people. But when else are you going to be able to ride on scenic bluffs, and through cool forests, on one of the most beautiful islands on the planet? Do it. You'll be glad you did.
