This was truly amazing. The staff has was an amazing knowledge of the family , the cars and the art. The best part is they can all tell a story that makes you understand why this matters. We will be going back again. My only regret is that I just now found out about it. The entire museum is beautiful. Don't miss the bathrooms.Larry and Berta

This specialty museum is located on an industrial street outside Oxnard. It is open to the public 2 Saturdays per month. Private and semi-private tours can be arranged through the web site. NO HANDBAGS of any kind are permitted in the museum. Be sure to review their rules! We purchased our tickets in advance (recommended) and got to the museum about 15 minutes before opening (free parking on site). The museum is the private collection of Bugatti autos of Peter Mullin. It is simply wonderful! If you like art deco, if you admire fine, fine automotive workmanship, this place is worth a visit. We were there for a special exhibit called FRENCH CURVES. Blew us away! The docents are helpful, well informed, and pleasant. Beside the fabulous collection of cars in perfect condition, there are many art deco objets d'art in the form of sculptures and furniture and some paintings. A thoroughly wonderful way to pass a Saturday morning. The trip was a birthday gift for my husband. He very much appreciated it! And I loved the extras of art deco.

Mr. Mullin is to be thanked for collecting such an outstanding selection of French art deco period automobiles , art and furniture and for sharing them with the public. I have visited the museum four times and on each occasion I came away impressed by the displays and the appealing manner in which they are presented. The art deco theme even extends into the public bathroom facilities which illustrate the thinking and attention to detail of the entire display. The museum building itself is very interesting as it has many environmentally features in it's design. This is a not to be missed collection for those with an interest in the automobile as art or art deco design.

If I was to give a rating it would be a 5/5 for the cars. The Bugatti exhibition is very cool and so worth the history lesson. The price was great at $15.00 a ticket. Also, the gallery is only open on select dates of the month. Be sure to check so you know and can plan accordingly. There a few things you should know so that you don't get treated horribly like we did today at the gallery. My rating is 0 for the employees. 1) you can only pay with cash, no problem but the lady at the front desk acted so rude when I tried to pay with my debit card, 2) know when the tours are otherwise you are walking around and looked at strangely by the employees. In fact they walk in front of you while you are reading the displays. 3) they keep your purse at the front desk. I don't understand this at all. If the lady was nicer I would have asked more questions or better yet should would have told me why. Lastly, when I was ready to go I waited to get my bag. Keep in mind the place was not busy but the employees where discussing something over the sales for the day. Fortunately another female employee saw me waiting for awhile and asked if she could assist me. Thank goodness she knows how to treat a customer. So strange. Overall, you should visit and you will learn something new. The employees giving the tours are very knowledgeable and display passion. We caught up with several tour groups. Enjoy the trip!

This to me is an art deco gallery. I love art deco by the way. These are the same cars I see at the Pebble Beach show but for a lot less than a $200 ticket. Also, It is so close and not at all crowded. I tell everyone I know how cool it is and it is a hidden gem here in Oxnard. I really should rate it low so to keep the crowds away but it is too good not to let others know it so they can enjoy it..

The cars are in good shape, especially for how old they are. The volunteers were knowledgeable and friendly. The trains were cool too. I didn't expect that in an auto museum.

We were invited to the Art of Bugatti exhibition. My husband John Lawson has been actively helping to build the Bugatti100p reproduction aeroplane, which is part of the exhibition there this summer 2014. After 4 years of very hard work, I am so proud to see his achievement displayed in perhaps the best museum ever! The collection of cars is quite something, in a first class setting of beauty and design. To see the aeroplane amongst the cars is a thrill. I could never have imagined the years of designing and building a bespoke gearbox here in Nottingham UK at my husbands hands, could have taken us to such an amazing place. Thank you Peter Mullin for your invite, and to everyone reading this review- Go! enjoy! you will love it.

As part of our international museum conference, we got a chance to visit the Mullin Museum in Oxnard today. We were greeted by the most obnoxious woman ever that set the tone for a bad experience. She barked at us like we were school kids who had no idea how to act in a transportation museum. It was quite offensive to myself and fellow colleagues.Otherwise, this is a beautiful collection presented in a wonderful space. The cars are certainly the highlight of the trip and you won't be disappointed if you don't get turned off by the greeting.

Feel transported back to the 1920's and tour beautiful cars restored to probably better than when they were new. This museum is only open to the public 2 Saturdays a month so check the website before planning your visit.

This is a definite must see when in Oxnard. You will need to make your reservation in advance. We went on a Saturday and arrived shortly after they opened. Plenty of free parking and easy to find. I recommend you watch the video first to get the background then take a tour conducted by one of the docents. We had Rick for our tour docent and he was excellent. Very informative and can answer just about any question you may have about the cars. These cars are beautiful!. The attention to detail is mind boggling! And you can leave the tour if you wish to view the cars on your own. There are two levels, with elevator access should you need it. There are bronze sculptures and furniture pieces as well to view. Plan to spend at least 3 hours which will give you time to read the placards for each car. The restrooms are beautiful as well!
