My wife and i were returning from the Portland Auto show and went on Tripadvisor for some place new to enjoy the road trip. My wife found this place with just a few reviews. It is a little hard to find in a industrial area tucked in behind a candy and baking supply business. We walked in and found some true beer lovers saddled up to the bar. We were greeted by a very friendly beer tender and my wife had a couple taste testers and i choose the Belgian style Sultan and my wife had Red Cherry Porter. Both were outstanding. They offer food from a local caterer and it was awesome as well. So do yourself a favor and pull off of the 5 and pull up a chair and enjoy a micro brew.

The beers are the best I've ever had especially the cask conditioned beer, all are excellent with loads of flavor. Go for the fight tasting, you will be very impressed. In short; integrated with abundant flavors, rich character, unique and traditional styles, Oregon hospitality in a warehouse setting- yummy fun.

Since I make a point to Google "Breweries in..." whenever visiting somewhere, even the place of my childhood, it was only a matter of time before Santiam would pop up. A rather secluded new spot, but stands out for sure in Salem.The cask brews are great, but also strong. I've tried them all, or at least what they have available in the summer, and have not had a bad one yet. Love the rustic pub setting surrounded by the casks themselves. If you are looking for a delicious brew in a tucked-away place, here you go.

This tap room is very hard to find and is located in an industrial-like strip mall. Its a pretty low key place, but there is a nice selection of unique beers.
