If you can visit before a performance of the Cinci Pops or orchestra, often there are food trucks or special pre concert events. The park on its own, with the color changing fountain that attracts local kids like a magnet, a very interesting play area, nice dog park and big open area for festivals is a great place to spend a day. Luminocity is phenomenal if you can get a ticket.

We've attended several events at Washington park. It's a beautiful park with a great kids playground, dog park area, and fountains that you can play in during the summer. This is not a run of the mill city park. It's really something special. The parking garage below the park is very convenient and feels safe. Through the week in the warm months there is live music in the evenings which is lots of fun. The park has a concession stand but when there are events a few food trucks also show up. They also sell alcohol for certain events. We attended a craft fair there one Saturday this summer. The crafts were interesting and the people watching was fun too.Check their website for events http://washingtonpark.org/The location of this park is also nice as it's across from Music Hall, and a very short walk to some trendy restaurants in OTR.

Cincinnati is not short on great parks, but Washington Park is truly unique! With an interactive water park, a children's playground, a dog park, a performance stage, and the American Classical Music Walk of Fame... this is a place for the entire family to come again and again! Make it one of your Cincinnati "happy places".

Transformation of Washington Park in Over the Rhine is jaw-dropping. There is no way to speak ill of this plot of land now. Trust me, there is not a contender in NYC or Houston inching close, and still not surpassing what Cincinnati proudly achieved. I don't say this out of bias, I say this out of truth. Cincinnati has a world renowned park system and all the boobs that live in Cincy still need to wise up. I appreciated what the city provided after my absence living in NYC. Trust me, Central Park is a refuge, not the quality park Cincinnati provided unappreciative visitors/residents. If you haven't been here yet, don't wait one more week.

Awesome outdoor concerts, great play ground and fountains for the kids, local food options, great views. One of my fave places in the city!

We walked through the park while waiting for a table at an area restaurant. It is a nice park OTR. However, I echo earlier sentiments that I wouldn't feel safe here after about 4:00 in the afternoon. There is a bar close by that was in full swing at 11:00 a.m.

It's pretty, but the area is really run down. There are a lot of homeless traversing the area, and they are pretty aggressive. I'm 6'5" and 215 lbs with a scary looking biker beard --- I still wouldn't go near this place after sunset.

We were in the area for Christmas Saengerfest, it's very nice, and the surrounding area has been turned into a great place to dine and meet with friends.

What can I say? Beautiful views, tons of money poured into making this park a beautiful place right in the heart of OTR. When the park initially remodeled itself you could actually enjoy it. But on the last 2 occasions it has been overrun again by the locals who are teaching their children to become just like them. They now have play ambassadors to watch over the children in the playground area because they are so bad. I'm talking about 5 year olds threatening my son calling him racial names that he doesn't even understand. Throwing rocks at my 2 month old baby girl. They mothers sitting around doing nothing. It is scary. Then on the last occasion I had pit bulls attack my dog in the dog park. I love pit bulls despite what people think, but common people if your going to own a dog treat it well! It's insane.Such a bummer bc that was once my kids favorite park but I refuse to go. My friends say that in the evenings during special events it is less troublesome. It's such a shame bc I loved the eclectic mix of races all together in a pretty green space in the middle of the city, but it sadly has become overrun again and shortly will return to it's once before state.
