Fleeing the frigid temperatures of Boston the Botanical Gardens were a treat. Wandering the paths laid out and taking in the wide variety of amazing plants and trees under the sun was a lovely way to spend an hour or so. Wonderful exhibition of orchids of all shapes and sizes grow from every possible surface. Koy pond and Buddha statues add to the serenity of this place. A great way to reconnect with nature and take in the diversity of plant life that we take for granted or that are often beyond our reach.

This is a beautiful and well-run botanical garden. The docents are wonderful and always willing to share their knowledge and love of plants and the garden with you. There is a movie about the Garden, lots of information, a nice gift shop and a cafe. Many paths that take you through different parts of the garden. There was a special exhibit when we were there about Costa Rican masks. Highly recommended for old and young.

We love to visit gardens and really didn't know about this when we arrived in Sarasota. The setting is absolutely lovely. Even though we didn't have any children with us we thoroughly enjoyed the children's garden. Give yourself about 2 hours to just ramble. It has a great history and is a jewel in Sarasota's crown. If you enjoy gardens, a visit will be very pleasing.

We got to Selby gardens on a Sunday and found there was a festival and plant sale going on that weekend. Entrance fee was discounted and there was live music and food. We really didn't care that much but it was nice. More crowded, but not too bad. Would have been worse on Saturday. Loved the gardens, though. Wonderful old trees everywhere. Lovely walks. Nice start to our vacation. Good food in the café.

I have been to the gardens many times, and each time there are several wondrous surprises. It is not possible to ever "see" all of it. Escape and take it all in, whether it's in early November, around the holidays, February ... (I have not seen the gardens in the summer). This is what I call the BEST kind of therapy to relieve any kind of stress.

Always a lovely place to stroll the grounds and enjoy the beauty of nature. What a treat to be located right on the bay too! Easy parking too. Their gift shop offers not only lovely gift items but a HUGE selection of beautiful plants!

This was a beautiful spot for garden lovers or even those who need a break from the city, the sun or shopping. It's small enough to do in an hour, or you can, of course, take more time than that if you'd like to study and/or enjoy the orchid house. Lots of photography opportunities. Also nice benches to sit on to just relax. Interesting plants, foliage and koi pond. Very pretty place. Well worth it, for sure.
