The Pin Point Heritage Museum is educational, inspiring, and touching. The museum tells the story of the local Gullah community and the oyster and crab factory in which they worked. The tour guides are descendants of people who worked at the factory. It is a good thing that this piece of history has been preserved to teach future generations about the Gullah culture and the low country in general. The museum was by far our favorite museum experience while we were in Savannah.

We actually happened upon this on accident and saw it on trip advisor after the fact. The videography of the film they show before starting the guided tour was amazing. That community and it's resident's are full of pride of where they came from and where they are. The set up was very clean and well restored. The tour is very interactive and educational so it'd be great for kids. The tour guides were very fun and friendly. Overall great experience! I definitely left with a strong appreciation of Gullah culture and the pin point community. Definitely recommend for any group!

I learned a lot about a lifestyle and history of the Low Country that I had been only vaguely familiar with. This should be on the MUST-SEE list of every African American tour in this area. The Gullah-Geechee in this area were hard-working entrepreneurs with strong religious faith. You'll learn something about crab picking and oyster shucking along with the history. Only about half an hour drive from Savannah. You'll want to spend about an hour at the site. It's a little difficult to find with GPS. There are road signs though. We stopped at Sisters of the New South on Skidaway Rd. for lunch on the way back for soul food.

We popped in on our way out of Savannah and had a lovely tour of this closed fishing village with Hanif and Gail. It was informative and unique among many tours available in the area. Hanif was sincere, available for questions, and had wonderful insights into the community because he used to work there shucking oysters and picking crabs. What a life! And what a history! If you are in the area, listen to the story of Pin Point Heritage because it rounds out a long history of racial divide in the coastal regions, demonstrating what happens "outside" of the big mansions in the city. Not to be missed. We were grateful to hear this story.

I'm very sorry about your visit being disappointing. At times it can be difficult to make Administrative decisions about what is best for the greater good. The fundraiser is beneficial to the museum because we are striving to make this site self-sustainable. However if you decide to visit us again please feel free to come as my guestTake care, Tania Smith-Jones Site Administrator

Thanks for coming. As you may have experience. When a museum is just starting upWe have to take small steps in operating the site. We can never predict the times when we will be busy or not. However we will monitor the traffic and adjust the staff accordingly. Thanks, Tania Smith-JonesSite Administrator

The museum is about the community's survival during the worst of economical times. We are very fortunate to have a benefactor who made their story a reality. This community is the last of it's kind. We are grateful to be able to share this amazing story about Pin Point .They have always been a faith-based community. The fact that it's the last Gullah-Geechee community, that hasn't been commercialized. That's just a reality of how far faith, strength, and perseverance can take you. Thank you for coming. The Golden Rule applies: No discussion of politics.Tania SmithSite Administrator
